COVID-19 Update: As you are all aware we are currently in Lockdown which has been extended to 30th July at the very least with all churches CLOSED. We are uncertain as to when Churches will re-open for Masses in the future. But whenever that takes place the 4 sq metre will be applied, so that St Bernadette’s would be limited to 65 and OLOL to 100. Under these conditions permanent bookings would no longer apply and parishioners would have to resume weekly bookings.

Live-Streamed Masses In light of the NSW Government decision to restrict the celebration of public Masses until at least 31 July, the Archdiocese of

Sydney would like to promote the availability of livestreamed Masses as much as possible, to help the faithful maintain an important spiritual connection to their parish at this time. We have a dedicated webpage on the Archdiocesan website where we are promoting the livestreamed Masses, currently available through our parishes: https://www.sydneycatholic.org/live-masses/

Mass for you at Home A reminder that each Sunday Mass is telecast by the Wollongong Diocese on Channel 10 at 6.00am.

End of Financial Year Thanks

address, they will be available to others once Churches re-open.

Fr Colin Mason RIP

These flowers were sent to Fr Colin’s Funeral at St Mary’s Church West End Townsville last Tuesday 20th July from the Parishioners of Lourdes Parish Earlwood. The message on the card read: “Loving & Prayerful Sympathy. Thank you Fr Colin for your loving Priestly service of us all. Parishioners of Lourdes Parish Earlwood.” St Mary’s Church was chosen for Fr Colin’s Funeral because he often said Mass in this Church when he first retired to Townsville and was well enough to do so. In his last 18 months he was living in care at Ozcare Villa Vincent. After the Funeral Mass the flowers were taken from the Church and placed in the Chapel at Villa Vincent in his memory.

Eternal Rest grant to him

O Lord and may perpetual light

shine upon him. May he rest

In peace.

Funeral Notice

Special thanks to Fitzgerald’s Funerals for their wonderful service.

Fr Colin died on Tuesday 13th July in Townsville. He did so much for Lourdes Parish during his 12 years of dedicated service as Parish Priest, which ended with his retirement on 14th Jan 2015. He loved the parishioners of both Churches OLOL & St Bernadette’s and they loved him.

Live Stream Details Fr Colin’s Funeral Mass was concelebrated with Bishop Tim Harris, the Bishop of Townsville, being the main celebrant. The Mass was live streamed. Here is the link. This link is still active and the Mass can still be viewed, if you missed it. https://youtu.be/kTMIW2KPocc
