DirectFlash shelves are based on NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF). They use the same modules as

the FlashArray//X chassis, and connect to FlashArray//X products using remote direct memory

access (RDMA) over Converged Ethernet (RoCE). You can add capacity to a FlashArray//X

product by simply adding a DirectFlash shelf. The FlashArray//X product can access DirectFlash

shelf modules with just single-digit microseconds of added latency, even when processing

thousands of input/output operations per second (IOPS) and high GB per second (GB/s)

throughput.2 Each fully loaded shelf has up to 1.5 PBs of usable capacity.

ALL WORKLOADS, ALL DATA, ALL THE TIMEThe same siloes that prevent running applications together on a legacy infrastructure also prevent

running workloads together. And not all storage solutions can handle all data types — some handle

only block, some only file, and others handle only objects. The Pure Data-Centric Architecture
