Jesus’ Unique Concept of God Chapter 4

�  God is not an object, but a Presence dwelling in us, a Principle by which we live.

�  Spirit means to breathe, to live. Spirit is the Life Principle, the Divine breath which is breathing out as each of us & the Universe. Spirit implies unformed, unrestricted, limitless.

�  Jesus guides us to direct our thoughts away from God as a finite form.

Where is God? �  God is not ‘up there’ or ‘out there’. God is the very

ground of our being.

�  Closer is He than breathing and nearer than hands and feet. God within you is at work to express in you, as you.

�  “I do nothing of myself…John 8:28 “The words I say unto you I speak not from myself, but the Father abiding in me doeth His works.” John 14:10

�  You are never separate from God. You are the very self-livingness of God, expressing as you.

�  Meister Eckhart said that God expects only one thing of you. Stop thinking of yourself as a created being & let God be God in you.

�  Paper torn in pieces, each contain the essence of the whole. You are the Presence of God at the point where you are. God is in you, not as the raisin in the bun, rather as the ocean is in the wave, You are the ocean expressing as a wave.

Prayer �  Prayer is for us, not God. We pray to change our

mind.

�  Jesus prayed, “Father, I thank Thee that thou heardest me. And I knew that thou hearest me always.” Jesus gave thanks in advance, with confidence because He knows God is principle.

�  It is not God’s will that we suffer. God does not say yes to some and no to others.

�  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and Truth. If we want peace, we must get into the Spirit of peace and affirm the Truth about it.” In God ‘with whom there is no variation,’ peace is constant.

�  Why does God not stop wars? There is no war in God. Why doesn’t the principle of mathematics answer your problems or keep you from getting the wrong answers? Principle does not know wrong answers.

We are transformed �  Jesus used the sun as a symbol for God. The sun

radiates anywhere we will permit. There is no place where God is not. Even as we close our minds, God is there.

�  There is always a reality beyond every appearance, there is always a within to everyone.

�  We live, move and have our being in an infinite ocean of intelligence, life and substance. When we are aware of this unity, we are transformed from personality to individuality.

We are of One Body �  “Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of

these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me.” Matt. 25-40.

�  Awake to the activity of the Presence in us. We are like the Prodigal son, living in the ‘far country’ of materiality, not aware that the greater dimensions of our nature exist.

�  When you ‘come to yourself’, you come alive to the within of you, the depths of you, as a living Presence.

Law of Mental Causation �  Thoughts tend to manifest themselves in

experience.

�  God is more willing to give than we are to receive, and has placed every desire right at our hand waiting for us to get into the proper mental attitude to have them fulfilled.

�  God is not matter, God is Spirit. And they who receive His gifts do so in Spirit, thru Spiritual wisdom & understanding.

Here and Now �  There is no place where we can get closer to God

than where we are right now.

�  We can become more aware of God but we can never change this closeness, which is the Presence of God in us. This is the Truth that Jesus came to teach.

From Miserable Sinners to Masters Chapter 5

�  We have heard more about Hell than Heaven, more about the Devil than about God. This leads to a kind of hopelessness, that we are sinners. ‘Original sin’ is not from Jesus’ teachings.

�  What we need is to learn about the goodness that is in us and how to reach it.

�  To manifest in our body and affairs, produce a likeness in the without of the image within us. The likeness of God is something we live into. This image is as God sees us. This is what Jesus did.

“Christ in You, the Hope of Glory”

�  The aim of the spiritual evolutionary process in you is to manifest the inner life of the Spirit.

�  Christ is not a person, but a principle. ‘Christ in you, the hope of glory,’ points to revealing this dimension of Divinity. God projected into visibility as you. Christ in you is your own spiritual unity with the Infinite, the key to your health and success.

The point of light in the heart of man/woman is the

Christ.

�  Every person has the potential of the Christ within them, only few know it, and fewer express the indwelling Christ.

�  Jesus saw sin as the frustration of the Divine potential in us and evil simply as the concealment of the good. He encouraged others to live up to the best in them.

�  Jesus believed in the Divinity in each of us, and our right to health and fulfillment. The Power that supported Him also supports each of us to express the creative urge within us.

You can be Healed �  Make contact with the ‘same light that lights each

of us.’

�  See yourself in terms of what you can be.

�  See into the heart of people and draw out their innate greatness.

�  “Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, & that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1Cor. 3:16)

�  The ‘church’ that Jesus talked about building is the inner life of man/woman. Develop the perception to see ourselves & others as the Divinity of man/woman.

�  From the standpoint of your Divinity, you can be a healthy, confident, radiant expression of the living God.

�  You are a force field of Divine activity, specialized as you.

�  The whole is in the part. What you can be is what you now are, even if you don’t know or experience it. (Unified Field)

�  There is help, healing, guidance for you, in the Kingdom of Heaven in you, in the Christ in you. It is you. Claim it. Affirm the Truth of your wholeness now.

�  Judge not by appearance, but judge by righteous judgment. (John 7:24)

�  There is that of you that is stronger than your weakness, wiser than your ignorance, better than your deeds.

Not good or bad �  There are no good or bad people. There are only

good people expressing themselves incompletely, and strong people frustrating their potential of strength.

�  We are what we can be. We are innately good and strong. Treat ourselves and others, seeing what can be.

�  We are in lack when we aren’t ‘plugged in’.

�  When we ‘come to ourselves,’ we wake up to our true Nature.

�  We are not an individual in God, that implies separation & isolation. We are an individualization of God.

�  There is no revelation higher than the realization of the Divinity within us.

�  No matter what this day brings us, what is in us is great enough to meet it, overcome it, and be blessed by it.

�  We can overcome, succeed, be healed, if we believe in our Divinity.

The Amazing BE Attitudes Chapter 6

Attitudes of Being, States of Mind

�  Matthew Ch 5-7.

�  “Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Rom 12:2

�  The beatitudes all begin with BLESSED which means to confer prosperity, to enrich.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

�  Aramaic translation of ‘poor in spirit’ means ‘poor in pride.’ It means to be teachable, open minded, receptive to the Truth. To renounce preconceived opinions & say, “I don’t know the answer but am willing to learn.”

�  Heaven is not a place in the sky, it comes from a Greek root what means ‘expanding’. It is speaking to our expanding potential.

�  Poor in spirit or poor in pride means to empty yourself of using personal will. This is beyond the intellect. It is an inward revelation.

Be Receptive �  Poor in spirit means to be receptive to the flow of

good thru us, acknowledging God as the Source.

�  “Theirs is the kingdom of heaven”, they release the imprisoned splendor of the depths within themselves.

�  I AM OPEN & RECEPTIVE TO THE INFLOW & THE OUTPOURING OF ALL THERE IS IN GOD.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

�  In sorrow and challenges, be willing to let go.

�  We can resist the truth of our Divinity, & be harmed by the fruits of wrong thinking (sickness, sorrow, worry).

�  Sorrows can bring blessings because it leads us to ‘stir up this gift of God’ within.

�  I AM GRATEFUL FOR CHALLENGES THAT LEAD ME BEYOND MYSELF TO GOD’S OPPORTUNITY.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

�  The kingdom of heaven is at hand. This meant NOW.

�  This is meekness or humility toward God. JC- “Of myself I can do nothing, it is the Father within that does the work.” This power came not to Him but through Him.

�  Meek means tamed, to harness that which is wild and unrestrained.

�  Meekness is a sensitiveness or surrender of consciousness to the influence of something greater.

Be Receptive �  The best conductor of electricity is the substance

that is least resistant to the flow of the electric current.

�  The best conductor of divine power is the person who is nonresistant to the flow of Divine power. This comes from the conviction that God is always the answer. Submit wholeheartedly to the flow of the Spirit in and through you.

�  Let the Divine activity of light & love express thru you to do things in the right way at the right time.

Invite God-ideas �  The meek or receptive mind invites God-ideas.

�  Meek consciousness is God consciousness. It is humble in recognition of human limitations but confident in the conviction of Divine resources.

�  The great source of wisdom is intuition. The great source of vision in insight. The great source of power is innate spiritual power. Tame and harness your inner potential.

�  I AM IN TUNE WITH GOD—THAT WHICH IS GOD-INSPIRED AND GOD-DIRECTED SHALL PREVAIL.

Blessed are they that hunger & thirst after righteousness:

for they shall be filled.

�  Jesus is dealing with one thing, ‘states of mind’.

�  Righteousness means ‘right thinking’. Jesus deals with attitudes not platitudes. It is right attitudes that make & sustain good health, or overcome limitations, and fosters success.

�  We must ‘hunger & thirst’ for health, to the exclusion of all else, enough to let go of self-pity & doubt.

�  We are healed to the extent we renew our mind. Look up and reach for something higher.

Look up �  Look up and our spiritual sight is restored from ‘in

the gutter’ thinking. Reach for something higher.

�  When we desire, we must reach for it. Reaching is actually accepting.

�  AS I SEEK (ACCEPT/ALLOW) WITH ALL MY MIND AND HEART, I SHALL FIND.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

�  The law of consciousness: If you want to be loved, you must love. If you want friends, you must be friendly. If you want just treatment, be just. Life is lived from the within out.

�  You can’t always change the world around you, but you can change your thoughts about the world. When you do this, you change your world of thought.

�  We solve the outer issues with an inner adjustment.

�  What comes to you is what your consciousness has drawn to you.

�  Your attitudes have an attracting force.

�  Decide the kind of world you want to experience, the kind of friends you want to have, the conditions you would like to see manifest. Begin to think the kind of thoughts that will draw them to you by the irresistible force of consciousness.

�  I KEEP MY THOUGHTS CENTERED UPON ONLY THOSE THINGS THAT I WANT TO SEE MANIFEST IN MY LIFE.

Blessed are the pure of heart: for they shall see God

�  When we rely on our sight, we see only part.

�  “Judge not according to appearances, but judge with righteous judgment.” John 7:24

�  Don’t let the apparent block the real.

�  We see what we believe. Let your thoughts be centered on the good, the true and the beautiful, and you will see God.

�  Turn from the part to the whole, from the faulty projections to the images being projected. From incorrect addition to the mathematical principle.

�  Those that are conscious of the whole within, are of the whole. JC-”He that hath seen me has seen the Father.”

�  Righteous judgment is seeing from God-consciousness.

�  When we are pure in heart we see only one Presence, God everywhere.

�  We see things not as they are, but as we are.

Wholesome power �  Seeing is an insight which influences the outlook.

�  Seeing becomes the projection of God-power. We view from God consciousness.

�  We are not here to set it right, but to see it right. Right seeing is the passport from illusion to the heaven of accomplishment.

�  To change the world, begin by changing the way you see the world. Get back to principle.

�  View life from the highest point of view vs the lowest.

I see from the Whole. �  See from God consciousness to the depth of every

experience, seeing the highest in everyone.

�  I SEE THE WORLD, NOT AS IT IS, BUT AS I AM. AND I AM IN SPIRITUAL UNITY WITH GOD.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons/

daughters of God �  Help comes not to us but thru us. We must

condition our mind to receive and express it.

�  Peace can only come when we are receptive to it, and then express it from within.

�  I am a radiating center of divine light, life and wisdom. I have the power to overcome within me at all times.

�  I AM A RADIATING CENTER OF PEACE AND LOVE.

� Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye when others shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

�  Persecution takes place also in our own mind. When we set a course of discipline in motion, we will face cross currents of opposition or inertia. This is often why we resist change.

�  Reach for greater things, even while others are pulling to keep you in lower things.

�  IN MY QUEST FOR TRUTH, I PRESS ON PAST MY HUMANITY TO A DEEPENING AWARENESS AND AN INCREASING RELEASEMENT OF MY INNATE DIVINITY.

Affirmative prayer �  1. Relax: make room for the Divine

�  2. Focus: “I know & recognize there is only One Power.

�  3. Unify: “I know it is all One, and I know that ___is also One with the Divine

�  4. Realize: “God is all there is, I realize that I am ___, I have ___, I know my life is ___, etc.

�  5. Grateful: Repeat #4. I am grateful for all the blessings that are mine.
