Use Your Voice to INSPIRE POSITIVE GROWTH in everyone!

Come gather and join the effort to help create

an amazing WHOLE child learning experience

for Edgewood students, faculty, and staff. The

PTO works collaboratively to supplement the

academic learning environment and provide a

special touch that makes school a home-away-

from-home. You can use your super powers to

help us make a positive difference.

PTO MEETING DATES This year we have arranged for all PTO meetings to take place in the evening. This will provide an opportunity for families not available during the daytime hours to attend. The same day of the week was chosen each month for consistency and efficient calendar planning. If you are unable to attend the evening meetings, please do not hesitate to reach out to the PTO Leadership Team to discuss thoughts and ideas. We welcome the Edgewood Family to work in a unified manner toward a common goal.

Using YOUR SUPERPOWERS

to help our children

find theirs.

When Superman took off his Superman outfit who was he? When asked this question most

people say Clark Kent, but the answer is, “He was still Superman”. It didn’t matter what clothes he was

wearing. He was still Superman on the inside. His strength came not from the uniform he wore but from the power within. The same goes for you and me. Your power does not come from your job, uniform, career, status,

circumstance, fame or label people give you. Your power comes from your heart, soul, spirit, passion and love that exists inside you and you are more powerful than you think.

You are not just human. You are SUPER human.

If you don’t feel powerful it’s because you have come to believe the illusion and the lie that outside circumstances have power over you. You have forgotten the truth that you create your world from the inside-out. You don't realize the power you possess. It’s as if you have been given the power of Superman or Wonderwoman but are living the life of Clark Kent or Diana Prince instead. Deep down you know the truth. It’s why these words resonate with you. It’s why so many love

super hero movies. You know you were made for more and there is more within you. You have been

given super human power and you are meant to use it. Not just to create your life but also to help others. Like all super heroes you have been given the greatest power in the

universe.

The power t o make a

difference in the life of

another human being. You were made with a super power to empower others. You don't need a special suit, a title or a super hero name. You just need to tap into the love, spirit, passion, soul and purpose inside you to create your life and a better world today. No cape required!

Living joins forces with his wife, Myla, in

this groundbreaking revised edition

(released in October, 2014) of the classic

book about mindfulness in parenting

children of all ages. Updated with new material--including an all

epilogue--Everyday Blessings remains one of the few books on

Kabat-Zinn.

With the growing interest in mindfulness as a way of living, and

with increasing scientific evidence of its value for optimal health

mindful parenting, and with mindfulness being increasingly

integrated into K-12 education, there has never been a better

time for cultivating greater mindfulness in parenting and in

Box Tops Challenge!

BEAT THE BLOOM!

Halloween may be over, but it’s SCARY how many Boxtops we have collected so far…over 8,000 of them! That means that as a school we have earned over $800 in less than two months. While Mr. Bloom’s class is leading the contest, please don’t be FRIGHTENED by the amount that they have turned in. There is still plenty of time to perform some TRICKS of your own and turn Boxtops into cash. You can help Edgewood earn money and maybe even e a r n a TREAT for your whole class! Check out the update by class and see where your class stands. Visit www.BTFE.com for information or email [email protected] with questions. Thank you and keep up the BOOtiful work!

Our Holiday Spirit Wear Store is coming!!! Stay tuned

early November for our new online store and styles!!!

Delivery will be on/before December 11th. The

Edgewood celebrated the National Day of Writing on October 20th by watching a brief video and asked each student or classroom to write a Mindful Mantra as part of the National Day of Writing. Here are some of the Mindful Mantras created around Edgewood:

Mrs. Lucci-May’s Class:

Don’t give up, because EVERYTHING is possible.

Mrs. Doto’s Class:

Tomorrow is a new day.

Practice makes progress.

Never say never.

Mrs. Kestel’s Class:

Whatever makes you happy
