THE RELIEFThe relief is the difference betweenthe highest and the lowest elevationsof the Earth’s surface.
We can find the:- Interior relief- Coast relief
What is a landscape?When we travel through the countryside, we see flat lands, mountains, rivers, reservoirs, forests and villages.
There are different types of landscape:
Mountain landscape
Coastal Landscape
Flat landscape
The Spanish reliefThe plains are large areas of land with no hills.
A plateau is a plain at a high altitude.
Depressions are plains which are lower than the surrounding land.
The mountains are very high areas of the ground.
Several mountains grouped together are called a mountain range.
A mountain chain is a long line of mountain ranges.
Valleys are low areas between mountains. Rivers are often found in
valleys.
Hills have a lower altitude than mountains.
The central Meseta
The central MesetaThe Central Plateau is in the center of the Peninsula. It is divided into two parts:
Northern plateau: It fows the Duero River
Southern plateau: It flows the Tajo and the Guadiana Rivers. There is the Toledo Range.

At the North there is The Cantabric Chain.
At the East there is the Moncayo Range situated in the Iberian chain.
At the South there is the Morena Range.
