It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! It’s no secret that the holiday season is one of my favorite times of year. Holiday happenings are what this season is all about; and though it can get hectic and stressful, I hope that each of you take the time to enjoy the magic of the holiday season. Holiday Parades, craft sales, concerts, holiday bazaars, bake sales, open houses and all of the other great events that happen between now and the new year offer a wide variety of entertainment for everyone. In this month’s newsletter, I’ll highlight a few of my favorites

Vision of Trees - Fort MorganThis is definitely one of my favorite annual holiday traditions. Local businesses and organizations decorate trees and they are on display for everyone to enjoy. Walking among the trees and seeing the creativity that goes into putting them together is a real inspiration for my holiday decorating. Along with the beautiful trees, there is a great lineup of entertainment. The best part about the Vision of Trees is that the proceeds go to local charities to support the work that they do in the community. Vision of Trees is in the middle of November, so it gets you in the mood for the holidays without a doubt!

Holiday Parades - Throughout the RegionNothing gets me in the holiday spirit like a frosty Christmas parade. It seems like my hometown’s Christmas parade is always on the coldest night of the year, but that is part of the magic. Christmas music, twinkling lights, beautiful floats, frost in the air and parade routes lined with smilling faces make it hard not to catch the holidy spirit! I guarantee that no matter which holiday parade you go to, you won’t disappointed. From the “March of the Toys” parade of lights in Holyoke to the “Patriotic Christmas” parade in Fort Morgan, you’ll be able to witness the magic of the holiday season first hand! I’ll have my hot cocoa in hand and be ready to freeze my tush while I’m watching the parade from my front row seat along the parade route!

Craft Shows, Bazaars & Bake Sales - Throughout the RegionIs there a better way to get ready for Christmas? Supporting local artisans is absolutely one of my favorite things to do all year long, but it’s especially fun during the holidays. I can’t get enough of the homemade crafts, food and creations that are available at the various shows and sales throughout the region over the next two months. I’ve got a couple of long-time favorites- The FCCLA Holiday Craft Show in Fort Morgan, the Brush Crafters Show, and the Gift Source Wiggins Arts & Craft Show. But I am planning on adding some new ones to my list this year- the Holidy Craft & Gift show in Greeley and The Last Stop Christmas Shop in Loveland.
