Huntsman SURFONAMINE® specialty amines are used as pigment modifiers and chemical intermediatesfor synthesis. SURFONAMINE® specialty amines are primary amines attached to a polyether backbonethat contains propylene oxide (PO), ethylene oxide (EO), or mixture of both. The ratio of EO to PO in thebackbone determines the relative hydrophilicity (the L-Series) or hydrophobicity (the B-Series) of the SURFONAMINE® surfactant amine. D-Series and T-Series SURFONAMINE® specialty amines offer di-functionality and tri-functionality in terms of the primary amine groups available for reaction, and areused where branching or crosslinking is desired. ED- and EDR-Series SURFONAMINE® diamines are based on PEG backbones that offer enhanced hydrophilic properties.
