An important part of medical apparel and hospital is using the gown , either reusable or disposable , to avoid contamination and prevent diseases, infections, virus spreading and contact with fluid splashes.

The disposable gowns are the most used mainly in surgical tasks and processes that are at risk of infection or contagion. One of the most used materials for the manufacture of  disposable gowns , is prolipoleno. The polypropylene is a thermoplastic, which offers good resistanceto chemicals and humidity, as well as having a high resistance to heat without deforming easily.

Whether multi-use or disposable , the coat should completely cover the uniform, reaching at least down to below the knees, and its front surface must be completely smooth to prevent you hook up with instruments or other items.

The disposable gowns are used mainly in cases of risk of contamination, most recently in the cases of influenza A, as explained by Dr. Jesus Rodriguez Bath, president of the Andalusian Society of Infectious Diseases, in relation to influenza A, " Patients requiring hospital admission should remain in a single room, and toilets that meet them should follow the precautions standard (basic hand hygiene before and after each patient contact or surfaces that surround it) and also those of Droplet and Contact (use of surgical mask, disposable gown and gloves are not sterile, must be removed when leaving the room). "

In general, disposable gowns should be used in all cases where there is danger of contamination of the uniform. You must use a different gown for each patient, one should not wear out the precise position where it is used and must be properly disposed in the container has been applied.
