“We need more labours for our sites. But it is difficult to engage them due to high rates. Need to

find a solution or subsidiaries to labour requirement of our sites”

There is a two type of Labours in construction industry. They can category as Skill labours and

unskilled labours In the Sri Lankan Construction Industry most of the works and trades carried

by skill and unskilled labour force. Construction Industry Growth up highly. Material, Machines

and man power cost increasing in day by day. Now a day scarcity of labours is mostly suffering

matter in construction Industry. Labour rates, labour maintains also very costly. Therefore

Employers has to face difficulties with labour urgency of Sri Lankan construction industry.

There profits also reduced due to increasing of labour wages.

One of the reason is, Sri Lankan construction industry do not try to keep labours with

themselves. Most of Construction companies in Sri Lanka They diffuse their labours after

completing of projects. Due to that reason labours has to find another opportunities. Therefore

industry has built up Vass labour vacant. Due to that grows up labour urgency in the industry.

Due to urgency of labour most of the companies are not use labours effectively. And they are not

use their existing labour force effectively to their projects

Therefore people need to implement new technology and methodologies to improve efficiency of

the labours and how to use them effectively to the projects. That is need to study feasibility of

new methods and technologies introduced to Sri Lankan construction industry to improve

labour’s effectiveness and efficiency.

In this scenario try to find out solutions for scarceness of labour and using new technology,

methodologies and technics to increasing effectiveness and efficient of construction worker’s.
