Due to the modularity of its design, theLiquisys S COM 223 / 253 controller canbe adapted to a wide range of customerneeds. The basic version, whichprovides simple measuring and alarmsignaling functions, can be equippedwith additional software and hardwaremodules to match specific applications.Retrofitting of expansion modules isalso possible.

Areas of application

• Waste water treatment plants

• Effluent treatment• Water treatment and water monitoring• Drinking water• Surface water:

rivers, lakes, ocean• Fish farming

Benefits at a glance

• Measuring controller in field orpanel-mounted housing

• Universal application– Switchable between oxygen

concentration in mg/l andsaturation index in % SAT viasoftware switching (mg/l = ppm)

• Simple handling– Logically arranged menu structure

with plain text in 6 languagesfacilitates instrument configuration

– Large, two-line display indicatesmeasured value and temperatureat the same time

– Simple one-point calibration in airor in the medium

• Safe Operation– Overvoltage (lightning) protection

according to EN 61000-4-5– Direct access for manual contact

control• CSA GP* and CE approved

* please consult factory

The basic unit can be extended with:• 2 or 4 contacts for use as:

− Limit contacts (also fortemperature)

− PID controller

− Timer for simple rinse processes

− Complete cleaning withChemoclean

• Plus package:

− Automatic pressure compensation

− Any current output configurationvia table

− Automatic initiation of cleaning incase of alarm or limit violation

− Live check of sensorProcess monitoring

• HART® or PROFIBUS PA and DP• 2nd current output for temperature

Details Liquisys M COM 223 / 253 provides asolution for all water and waste watertreatment applications.

Features of the basic version (DX):

Measurement of oxygen concentrationin mg/l or % saturationThis is selected via the menu. Thetemperature is displayed at the sametime or, if desired, not shown at all.

The COS 41 sensor has no zero currentand therefore only requires one-pointcalibration. This is performed in air(corresponding to 100% saturation) orby reference calibration in the medium.

Different alarms are required dependingon application and operator. Thereforethe Liquisys M COM 223 / 253 permitsindependent configuration of the alarmcontact and error current for eachindividual error. Unnecessary orundesirable alarms can be suppressedin this manner.

Up to four contacts can be used as limitcontacts (also for temperature), toimplement a PID controller or forcleaning functions.

Direct manual operation of thecontacts (bypassing the menu)provides quick access to limit, control orcleaning contacts, permitting speedycorrection of deviations.

The serial numbers of the instrumentand modules and the order code can becalled up on the display.

The DS version provides additionalfunctions:

The oxygen concentration not onlydepends on the local altitude, but alsoon the weather (air pressure). Theautomatic pressure compensationfunction takes these fluctuations intoaccount.

In order to display wide measuringranges while still achieving a highresolution in specific ranges, the currentoutput can be configured as required viaa table. This permits bilinear orquasi-logarithmic curves.

The live check issues an alarm whenthe sensor signal does not change overa defined period of time. This may becaused by blocking, passivation, orseparation from the process.

The Process Check System is used tomonitor adjustable time intervals, e.g.for permanent aeration or permanentabsence of aeration.
