26 Statewide Annual YF&R picnic
Harvest for All YFR members, with the help of all Farm Bureau members, donate time, money and food to local food banks in an effort to create a hunger-free America.
YF&R Leadership Conference Young farmers from across the state gather for a two day event of learning, networking, and fun. Sessions at the conference cover everything from financial planning, farm transition, current agriculture issues, the role of young farmers, and much more.
Education Outreach Outstanding Ag in the Classroom Teacher Award is presented by YFR after completing the Ag in the Classroom program, teachers have the opportunity to showcase how they have incorporated agriculture into their classroom by applying for the Outstanding Ag in the Classroom Teacher Award. A winner and runner-up are selected each year and awarded cash and money for classroom materials so they can continue to impact young people and provide a positive and accurate image of agriculture.
Accurate Ag Books YFR Committee members take time out of
their busy schedules to read accurate agriculture books to students and provide these reading resources to ensure a strong foundation of agriculture knowledge vital
for the success of farming in the future.
Annual Picnic and Meeting YFR helps young farmers and ranchers
improve leadership and communication skills. It also gives them the chance to meet
others of their age group with similar interests and concerns. A perfect example
of this is during their annual picnic at which members from across the state
gather in one location to share good food, good times and networking opportunities.
Discussion Meets YFR hosts discussion meets on both the county and state levels which gives YFR
members as well as collegiate students opportunities to discuss and share their points of view on current pressing issues
in agriculture today.
Benefit Auction Each year during PA Farm
Bureau’s annual meeting YFR hosts a benefit auction to help with fundraising
for the activities they will participate in the following year.
Ag Progress Days YFR provides agricultural entertainment for youngsters so their parents can tour the other Farm Bureau exhibits.
