DAILY INTENTIONS The Cardinal has granted dispensation to the lay faithful for missing Mass on Sunday. In lieu of receiving an Eucharistic Communion, the lay faithful can pray for a Spiritual Communion. Please note that each day, when a private Mass is offered by Fr. Joe and Fr. David, the above intentions are mentioned at the celebration of the Eucharist. If you would like to book a Mass Intention please email the parish office at [email protected]. Please include the full name for the Mass intention, and include your name and phone number.
We continue to bring the Word of God to children through a live online liturgy every Sunday at 1pm (JK to Gr 2) and 3pm (Gr 3 & up). The virtual sessions follow the same SUDFWLFH�DV�WKH�FKLOGUHQ¶V�liturgy at Church where kids pray and experience the Sunday readings at their own level. REFLECTION
Receiving and Sharing Merciful Love In 2000, when Pope John Paul II was canonizing St. Faustina, he declared that the Second Sunday of Easter will be called Divine Mercy Sunday for the entire Church. This Sunday, let us reflect on Jesus who longs to forgive us and to shower His love and mercy on us. We should never tire of running to Him for healing. St. Therese of Lisieux says "even though I had on my conscience all the sins that can be committed, I would go, my heart broken with sorrow, and throw myself into Jesus' arms, for I know how much He loves the prodigal child who returns to Him" As good stewards of Christ we should first accept the mercy of God in our lives and then share it with others through our acts. Some spiritual works of mercy we can begin to cultivate are to "instruct the ignorant" and "counsel the doubtful" by helping with parish catechesis ministries. We can also "forgive offenses" and "pray for the living and the dead" through personal prayer as well as by joining various prayer groups within the parish. Some corporal works of mercy we can adopt is to "feed the hungry" and "clothe the naked" by taking part in parish organizations such as the St. Vincent de Paul society. We can also "visit the sick" and "visit the imprisoned" by seeking ministries that care for the sick and elderly. This Divine Mercy Sunday let us seek to be filled with God's mercy. Let us then let His mercy overflow into our deeds within the parish so that we may become stewards of God's merciful love. ONLINE DONATIONS Dear parishioners,
I hope and pray that you are staying healthy ± both physically and spiritually.
No doubt you are aware that our parish relies on the support of our parishioners to operate ± parish salaries, programs and ongoing operating costs (heating, water, electricity, etc.) ± are funded through the generosity of our parish community. It will be a challenge for our parish to maintain operations without the weekly offertory collection.
Here are the ways that you can continue to support our parish at this time:
x Mail your regular weekly offertory contribution to the parish or drop off to the parish mailbox by the office door.
x Online donations can be made at www.archtoronto.org. Simply click on the donate now icon, select St. Francis de Sales parish from the drop down menu and the fund you wish to donate to. This can be done as a onetime donation or as an ongoing monthly donation. It will give you a place to choose that option.
x Contribute through pre-authorized giving. You can obtain a form from the parish website. Mail the completed form and a voided cheque to your parish office. Or e-mail the form and a scanned copy or photo of a voided cheque to [email protected] for processing. Contributions are withdrawn from your bank account on the 20th of each month.
You can also contribute to the offertory via online banking. To do this, the archdiocese will need to send you a unique account number. Please send an e-mail to [email protected]. In the body of the email, provide:
¾ Your name, address, parish name, and municipality You will be emailed account information, which you can use to set up the Archdiocese of Toronto as a payee in your on-line banking. Your gift will be forwarded to our parish. You can make a one time or recurring gift to our offertory.
