Mason-Corinth Elementary Family Resource Center offers Summer Discovery ProgramM a s o n - C o r i n t h
Elementary Family Resource Center will offer a summer Discovery Program.
Classes are open to all third, fourth and fifth grade students in Grant County.
• June 4 – 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Early Drop-off – 7:30 a.m. / Late Pick-up – 3 p.m. (extra fee) at Mason-Corinth Elementary
This program offers chil-dren the opportunity to pursue academic interests and strengthen skills relevant to their educational pursuits. The classes are challenging and provide authentic hands-on learning experiences. The excellent and caring instruc-tors encourage creative think-ing and development of stu-dent interests. The program offers a variety of classes in science, mathematics, tech-nology, arts, music, physical education and original inter-disciplinary studies. Registration opened April 30 and the deadline is May 21. The registration is $45 with early and/or late drop-off is an additional fee of $10. Each additional participant living in the same household is $35

If you love yoga or you’re just starting out, participation in this fun and educational course will help you to learn about the practices of yoga and meditation that may help defuse stressful situations lasting a lifetime. Participants will learn the three main com-ponents of yoga; breathing, poses, and meditation.

healthy lifestyles, and appro-priate physical fitness through the PACS NOW, KY’s nutri-tional outreach program. Participants will learn how to create a healthy menu, how to fight germs, and nutrition through taste testing and learning fun ways to exer-cise.

All about you with cre-ative and adventure in scrap-booking. Participants will fill a scrap book album with favorite photos. Participants will learn many skills with different materials and tools of scrapbooking.

Safely thinking past the microwave is something that many parents dream of for their child. Participants will gain skills of cooking safely while incorporating fun and nutrition. Learn how to use recipes and kitchen tools, and learn to plan a menu with nutritious seasonal foods.

experience course of mechan-ics with cars and small engines. What are the most important and necessary every day tools? Students will learn the basics of car maintenance, how to change oil, how to change a tire, how to refill and check fluids, and the use of jumper cables.

Decipher and compare the impacts inventions created by Benjamin Franklin made on the world in 1700’s vs. Steve Jobs in the 2000’s. Students will practice pre-algebraic equations, evaluate mini elec-trical charges, vote on what they think is the best APP, and learn about the innards or a computer.
Truly Experience Animal Science

Do you have a passion for animals or is your path lead-ing towards working with ani-mals? This course will focus on the maintenance, health, and biology of animals. The hands on interaction with ani-mals will take place every day with different animals such as goats, chickens and maybe even a miniature pony.
