The yellow wire from the back of the gauge needs to run to the back of this programming switch. It’s used to access the gauge’s various functions and set upper limits, warnings, etc. There’s also an earth off the back of the switch that needs to be run to a known good earthing point somewhere – make sure it’s clean metal and not painted. Drill a small hole in a blanking panel somewhere in your dash and mount the programming switch to it The first step is to find a spot to mount the gauge. The G52-BET is a standard 52mm size so any dash or A-pillar pod will work perfectly. Be aware that installation on an A-pillar may or may not be legal in your state, as it could potentially restrict driver vision – do a bit of research first to save headaches later. You’ll also need to mount up the Boost/EGT interface box inside the cabin where it’s clean, dry and safe and connect it to the gauge. Under the dash is a typical mounting spot for this. Don’t stress if the wiring looks tricky to start with, because it’s not that big a deal once you break it down. Thankfully it’s all colour-coded and the instructions are nice and clear. Run the orange wire to an accessories power behind the dash so the gauge turns on and off with the key, and run the black wire to a good solid earth. The brown wire needs to go to a negative coming off the back of the dash, and the grey wire needs to go to a park light positive behind the dash – a light that has power when you turn the parkers on. This lets the gauge auto-dim at night when you turn your headlights on If you own a modern vehicle then you may well be in luck when it comes to an EGT sender, because your exhaust may already have an EGT bung installed. Likewise if you have an aftermarket exhaust, which typically comes with an EGT bung ready to go. If not, you’ll need to drop the vehicle down to the local exhaust shop and have them weld the supplied bung in – it shouldn’t cost more than about $50 to do. Take the sender with you so they can match the thread size and pitch. Install the sender along with the compression cap and ferrule assembly and tighten approximately half a turn past finger tight. Run the wiring for the sender up into the engine bay and secure it with split tubing the entire length The G52-BET kit comes with a t-fitting and manifold pressure sensing hose so you can tap into a line off the inlet manifold. In some cases you may need to drill and tap a bung into the inlet manifold to allow for fitment of the hose. Run this hose to meet with the wiring for the EGT sender and into the cabin via one of the factory rubber grommets. The optional temperature sender is a fantastic idea because it allows you to keep an eye on your coolant temperatures. It’s a nice easy install that simply requires a sender be installed into a factory position, with the wiring a simple push connection. Run it inside the same split tubing as the other wiring to keep it protected from damage due to heat, mud or clumsy hands under the bonnet And there you have it! All that’s left to do is program the gauge so that it can monitor and alarm at the correct times. Refer to the included instructions on how to do this. You’ll need to research your own vehicle to figure out where to set the boost, EGT and even coolant temp alarms as they vary considerably from older vehicle to newer vehicle CONTACT REDARC ELECTRONICS W: www.redarc.com.au How to install a REDARC EGT & Boost combo gauge for a vital safety upgrade to any diesel vehicle W hether you own a 20 year old diesel 4WD or a brand new one, there are a couple of vital areas you need to keep an eye on to ensure the continued health of your motor. Drill a small hole in a blanking panel somewhere in your dash and mount the programming switch to it

The first step is to find a spot to mount the gauge. The G52-BET is a standard 52mm size so any dash or A-pillar pod will work perfectly. Be aware that installation on an A-pillar may or may not be legal in your state, as it could potentially restrict driver vision – do a bit of research first to save headaches later.
