Your beautifully decorated ceramics get cracked! Oh my God, how disappointing it is! Here, I have discussed do-it-yourself procedures to consider for your ceramic repair. So, it’s advisable to go for a low tech fix first; if that does make your precious ceramics fine, and then go for a high tech solution.

How to Restore Damaged Ceramics with Super Glue

•First of all, you will need baking soda and super glue (Cyanoacrylate) which contains Phthalic Anhydride.  The content of Phthalic Anhydride helps in improving the heat and water resistance ability of super glue.

•After that, you have to rub baking soda on the ceramic crack. Try to fill as much crack as possible. Then, clean the excessive baking soda with a moistened tissue from your precious ceramics.

•Apply super glue on ceramic crack and allow the glue about 5 seconds to seep in. Wipe out the excess glue with a dry tissue from the ceramic surface. If you have ever noticed how acrylic nail tips are applied, then you may have seen how the manicurist wipes away the excess nail glue skillfully with a quick, firm swipe.

•If you don’t complete the process in a right way, then some bits of tissue can get torn off as well as stick to the ceramic surface. So it will be good for you to practice the timing and motion on another glossy surface like acrylic, glass or any china plate or cup.

•However, the baking soda fused with heat can combine with water-resistant glue to form a long lasting, light-weighed filler and adhesive.

•You will need to use a small portion of super glue, if you are sensitive to the smokes and work in a well-ventilated area. After all, your ceramic figurine is damaged.  If you will work on a spout area, then it will be better for you to repeat the baking soda and super glue process for obtaining great results.
