• Where we are:
iCVC is not well received by the armor community (hot, heavy, poor fit)
Some Soldiers are authorized by command to wear Advanced Aircrew Combat Uniform (A2CU) or Flame Resistant Advanced Combat Uniform (FR ACU) instead of iCVC
• Where we are going:
Request for Information (RFI) for novel, new Flame Resistant materials that are significantly lower in cost in 2QFY22
Looking at alternative uniforms for potential common solution with other services
Conduct a small user evaluation in 3/4QFY22
Lightweight Performance Hood (LPH)
Published an RFI in 3QFY20
Received a number of responses Down selected to five LPH designs
• Where we are going:
User evaluation planned for FY21 moved to 3/4QFY22
Identify the best LPH option(s) from user evaluation Create a commercial item description Transition to sustainment
In October 2020, Chief of Naval Operations approved the Navy 2PC-FR Ensemble as organizational clothing. The Navy 2PC-FR Ensemble will replace the IFRV coveralls as the primary at-sea uniform for afloat units.
COMPONENTS: • 2PC-FR Uniform, Coat and Trousers
• Blue E6 and below • Khaki E7 and above
• Flame Resistant (FR) T-shirt, Unisex, Black, 6 sizes • Insignia
DESIGN: Navy Working Uniform Type III silhouette with design modifications
MATERIAL: Inherently FR fiber blend, 6.0-7.0 oz/yd2 ripstop weave
SIZING: Unisex (alpha/numeric) • Coat = 60 sizes • Trousers = 54 sizes
ISSUE: Three (3) sets total per sailor: • Two (2) sets initial • One (1) set upon deployment
WEAR POLICY: Authorized for wear during the regular workday, while commuting to and from their commands, and during all routine tasks and associated stops before and after the workday
PROCUREMENT: Procured from DLA by Navy afloat units using ship’s operational funds
