    North Vancouver School Districts Digital Media Academy(DMA), located at Argyle Secondary School, is anenriched hands-on program that will provide you withaccess to a broad and useful range of skills andknowledge in digital arts, project management, and prob-lem solving. You will learn to create meaningful stories andsolve challenging problems. One of our main goals is toprepare you for post-secondary training as well as themany careers and lifestyles in digital media.

    The DMA will challenge you to become an independentself-directed learner with the skills and knowledge tosolve real world design problems. You will learn to planand organize your projects and use your creative,

    technological and intellectual skills to become a mediadesign visionary of the future. You will master thefundamentals of project management and the designprocess. You will learn to shape messages that commu-nicate to various audiences. You will be exposed tovarious media professionals through guest speakers,workshops, field trips, and work experience.

    In a flexible learning environment your team willwork on projects to integrate your knowledge ofmedia design, technology, and project management.You will learn to express yourself in the creation ofanimations, short films, audio recordings, videogames, special effects, magazines, web sites, posters,logos, and other media. In your Grade 12 year youwill have the opportunity to explore and further

    concentrate on personal areas of interest. Your finalportfolio will include a variety of media to help youenter the postsecondary program of your choice.

    In BC there are many opportunsecondary training and careersmedia. British Columbia has Television, Animation, and GaIndustries. The Digital Media Iknowledgeable and creative wexperience using their imaginaproblems. The DMA offers you

    Students will be evaluated formatively, as they learn,using rubrics and checklists. Your teachers will act asguides and collaborators. You will be assessedbased on your performance in project management,
