o Effectively use industry standard techniques, equip-ment and software.
o Creative camera control of exposure, depth- of-eld,
selective focus, freezing and blurring of motion.
o Lighting styles appropriate for the subject and theme(portrait lighting patterns, 3-point lighting.)
o Capture and manage image les using an establishedworkow process.
o Use editing tools to enhance image quality and im-pact (cropping, exposure, color, re- touching, specialeffects etc.)
o Appropriate distribution of images (for print, mount-ing, and web publishing.

Students will assemble a photography portfolio and exhibit with a variety of stu-dent work to demonstrate knowledge of principles and technical skills meetingspecied standards.
Students learn to see photographically through an exploration of the basic tools,techniques and aesthetics of digital photography, with an emphasis on the cre-
ative use of camera controls, digital imaging software, and an awareness of thecritical issues in contemporary photography. At the end of the Course, studentstake a comprehensive written and applied assessment to earn a PhotographyCerticate. The Photography Course consists of approximately 216 hours ofclassroom instruction over a two year period.
