A member of the inaugural USA Basketball Men’s DevelopmentalNational Team in 2009-10, Bradley Beal has two international goldmedals to his name, along with an MVP nod at the 2010 FIBA U17World Championship and a 2011 Nike Hoop Summit win.

“I love USA Basketball,” Beal said when asked to summarize his experiences with the red, white and blue. “It’s probably the best program I’ve ever played on besides playing in the NBA. It’s an opportunity that not a lot of people get a chance to be able to do.You’re able to represent your country and know what you’re playing for; you’re trying to win a gold medal, and that’s the bestfeeling in the world. If I had an opportunity to do it again, I’d definitely do it.”

Beal embarked on his rookie season in 2012-13 after being selected as the No. 3 pick by the Washington Wizards in the 2012NBA Draft.

“It’s been fun and exciting,” Beal said when asked about his career.“All the hard work and dedication pays off - it’s cliché, but it’s actually true. I’m just really living my dream right now.”

And for those hoping to live theirdream by playing for their countrywith USA Basketbnall, Beal has someadvice.

“Know what you’re playing for,” Bealsaid. “The whole team is going to betalented; passers, scorers, guys thatare capable of having many talents, but it’s about sacrificing. That’s thebiggest thing that I would say playershave to do. We sacrificed for the goodof the team. You have to realize thatthe ultimate goal is to win a goldmedal. It’s important to make sureyou stay on that course and understand that goal.”
