‘Dare To Dream’ is a transparent and multifaceted foundation dedicated to realizing the full potential of St. Maarten’s human resources through a diversified entrepreneurial guidance and

development program utilizing practical applications in mentorship within our island’s socio/economic community.

Based on the rapid development and the societal changes on our Island, our foundation recognizes the need for our (young)

adults of St. Maarten to be guided towards a positive process of transitioning their dreams and visions into positive action.

Dare To Dream Foundation has a number of free programs available to members of St. Maartens’ society from age 15 and up. Our programs range from Inner Development, to Career Guidance; to Entrepreneurship programs which offer the tools to start up business or re-evaluate current situations. The programs will be administered at Dare To Dreams’ headquarters and in high schools. Dare To Dream Foundation will assist, re-motivate, stimulate and empower St. Maarteners to work on their dream, set out goals (achievements, material and emotional goals) and follow through without settling for less than way above average.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) tagged St. Maarten's unemployment rate at 12.2 per cent in 2009 with youth unemployment (persons ages 15-24) standing at a staggering 29.6 per cent. Dare To Dream Foundation also creates solutions to aid in solving the issue of youth unemployment.

‘‘If you can dream it you can do it’ is the philosophy of ‘Dare To Dream Foundation’. We stimulate and inspire ‘Dream Chasers’ to maximize their true potential and help them realize their strengths from within. ‘Our vision is one that dares you to dream big, dares you to work hard and double-dares you to prepare for success.

Live Your Dream

The best way to hold on to a dream is to

‘taste it’. This project is called ‘Live Your

Dream’ and it enables youngsters to

create their own business plan and also

get the opportunity to actually ‘live it’

upon finalization of the project.

The youngsters will have had tremendous

insight on how much effort their dream

may require as it is intended to motivate

youngsters and empower that dream. We will mentor and give the opportunity

to experience, learn and carry out what

their profession or business in the future

will be like.

Mini Job Training/Visits

Inner Development

Entrepreneurship

Project Planning and more.

Dream Chasers

There are so many young entrepreneurs

on St. Maarten, but little avenues that

provide the tools necessary to get the

most out of efforts of entrepreneurship.

They are left to their own devices and

there are not many people in society that

really inspire or give valid examples of

the industry.

In the ‘Dream Chaser ‘Program,

45 youngsters/year get the opportunity to

be taught by St. Maartens’ successful

entrepreneurs that have partnered with

Dare To Dream Foundation, during

workshops, seminars and ‘Q & A’

sessions to positively stimulate and

educate the youngsters about the

economy and social environment when it

comes to doing business successfully on

St. Maarten.

Into The Core

To inspire, motivate and empower our

youngsters in the most direct and

efficient way we go right into the schools.

Our goal is to help visualize ones

personal ladder to success.

We will give insight on how to get ‘there’

and hold on to that dream by helping

them realize that they AND their dreams

matter.

This will aid in the realization that we all

need to be positive influences on our

society and be active members towards

the betterment of the island.

Once-a-week Mini-workshops will be

given for four weeks/class of the high

schools that need positive stimulation

most; MPC (PKL/TKL & MAVO)

Vocational Training School, Academy,

and Sundial school.

Inner Development Program

Inner Development is crucial for any individual seeking success. Who are you, what

do you stand for, what do you see for yourself doing for the rest of your life? What

motivates you? These are questions that need to be addressed before any serious

endeavor. Once people know who they are and what they stand for it will facilitate the

identification of, and the critical path towards fulfillment. Motivation is one of the keys

to success. What motivates you to be better? This and the aforementioned questions

will be answered, resulting in tools that can be accessed and applied for a lifetime.

Career Guidance For Adults

How to keep motivated while achieving ones goals simultaneously is part of lifelong

learning. Learn how to deal with setbacks, but never losing sight of a dream.

Career guidance helps people to reflect on their ambitions, interests, qualifications

and abilities. It helps them to understand the labor market and education systems,

and to understand the correlation between themselves and these two elements.

Benefits of career guidance have a positive impact upon short-term learning,

motivational and attitudinal outcomes and also high degree of confidence. These

include: increased job exploration and increased motivation to seek work.

St. Maartens’ Own Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs that enter the Dare To Dream Foundation programs with the right state

of mind and ideas can be guided and given the tools to be successful. This includes

mentorship programs by successful entrepreneurs on the Island, guidance with

business plans and the opportunity to be part of St. Maartens’ first Business Incubator

Program, designed to accelerate the growth and success of entrepreneurial

companies through an array of business support resources and services that include

physical space, coaching, common services, and networking connections.

Customer Service Training

Customer satisfaction and loyalty in the tourism sector is highly dependent upon the

behaviors of front-line service providers. Service is about people, how they relate to

one another, fulfill each other's needs and ultimately care for each other.

Tourist Customer Service Satisfaction fully explores the relationship of the social

exchange and interaction between the service provider and customer by defining the

specific kind of verbal and non-verbal messages needed for successful exchanges,

outlining how the service provider ought to behave & cope in a situation as well as

detailing positive approaches that enhance a service provider's role performance.

My Pledge To Success… First I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my definite purpose; therefore, I demand of myself persistent, aggressive and continuous action toward its attainment. Second I realize that the dominating thoughts of my mind eventually reproduce themselves in outward, bodily action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality; therefore, I will concentrate my mind upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to be, creating a mental picture of this person and then transforming that picture into reality through practical service. Third I know that any desire that I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek expression though some practical means of realizing it. Fourth I will clearly map out and write down a description of my definite purpose in life for the coming five years. I will set a price on my services for each of these five years; a price that I intend to earn and receive through strict application of the principle of efficient, satisfactory service, which I will render in advance. Fifth I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure unless built upon truth and justice; therefore, I will engage in no transaction that does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to me the forces I wish to use and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me because I will first serve them. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy selfishness and cynicism by developing love for all humanity because I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success.
