My Perspectives (SPAIN)

Spanish culture has some different features from my country’s. Their food, life styles, clothes, schools, free time activities and lots more… Firstly their buildings are very similar to the ones in my country. They didn’t destroy their buildings, they just restored them so they are able to protect their old culture. Spain has very very old history. So when you go to the Spain, you can easily see ancient buildings, mosques, cathedrals, churces… Also Spanish food culture isn’t like the Turkish food. I saw that they generally eat snacks like sandwiches, tapas, chips… In Turkey, people like more satisfying food. Thats why, our food culture is not like the Spanish one. Spanish people love the order in life so they are very strict about their jobs. And they also know how to have fun. They can have fun everywhere and anytime. You just give them music and watch their dancing and their fun. And they have different kinds of policemen. The policemen use the horses to patrol around the streets and I think it’s very

beautiful to see them in the streets in Spain. Also I saw that everyone has a pet -generally dog- and they walk around the streets with their pets. It’s a beautiful thing to see in Spain, too.

I took this photo in Alcazar, Cordoba. It’s important for Cordoba because it’s the highest point in the city. You can see all of the Cordoba in here. Also Alcazar has beautiful gardens. In the gardens you can see some ponds and lots of mandarin trees and we learnt that they use the mandarins to make marmalades.

I think this is the most beautiful street in Spain. A beatiful view, beautiful flowers and also beautiful smells. We learnt that the flowers are really important for Spanish people and there are some contests about it,too. If you want to win the competition, you must have very beautiful balconies with flowers and also vases. We understood that Spanish people like growing and taking care of flowers because we saw the balconies with flowers everywhere in Spain.

I took this photo at the Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba. It’s very important cathedral for Cordoba. In the past that building was a mosque but now it is a cathedral. This cathedral has very beautiful gardens like Alcazar. In the gardens there are mandarin trees again and in the mid of the garden there is a pond with a water fountain, too. Also in the cathedral there are lots of designs from Turkish culture. In the catedral there is a mystic smell.

I took this photo in Seville. In this castle there are too many plants and trees that’s why this castle has a beautiful garden, you can see in the photo. But that’s only one part of it, there are lots of gardens in the castle. I think that in the past the gardens, plants and flowers were really important for that people. Also they built extremely long walls to protect the castle.

This is one of the most popular and traditional food in Spain. They called this dish as ‘Paella’ . There are too many types for it. You can eat with seafood or meat . We tasted the one with seafood . I don’t like it so much but it is not bad of course. You can taste that in everywhere. In Paella the most important ingredients are rice and olive oil. They

combine rice and olive oil with seafood or meat. It’s a different food for my me.

This is ‘Tapas’. It’s very important, special and popular in Spain. It’s a kind of snack and tapas has too many types, too. People who live in Spain prefer tapas when they have not got much time. Because tapas is like fast food so you can eat that in a short time. That’s why people usually prefer Tapas.
