DOC Gives Prospective Candidates An Inside Look At One Of Our City Jails For the first time in history, the Department of Correction hosted a Recruitment Open House inside a city jail. The event held at RNDC on Rikers Island, gave future recruits a glimpse into an exciting and rewarding career with DOC. The Department of Correction is at the forefront of national correction reform. DOC’s -14Point Anti- Violence Reform agenda is designed to create a culture of safety and DOC Academy recruits are a very big part of making it work. “If chosen to join the Academy, you will work every day knowing that you, and what you do, are crucial to creating that culture of safety,” Commissioner Ponte said. “You will be part of something bigger than yourselves, and you will affect more lives than you can imagine.” Correction Officers will be trained on a variety of skills needed for safer jails. DOC Gives Prospective Candidates An Inside Look At One Of Our City Jails For the first time in history, the Department of Correction hosted a Recruitment Open House inside
