    Dear doc!-ers,

Heres the February issue of our magazine in front of you. Eighth issue. Extraordinary number taken the quantity of materi-als youll find inside. Of course therell be eight of them. But in contrast to all previous issues, this time its vain to look for an interview inside it. Instead of it we propose a material written by Piotr Zbierski last years Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award winner.

Piotr is the main character of this issue of doc! photo magazine. Moreover, exactly in this issue he presents his newest material Love Has To Reinvented for the first time. If we were a radio station, a PREMIERE jingle would sound now.

Together with authors of the remaining materials, we will travel the world a bit. We will visit places like Morocco or Sudan in Africa, Sweden in Europe and Nepal, Mongolia, Bangladesh in Asia. Theyll be amazing journeys.

Ending, we traditionally invite you to another edition of doc! talks. Our February guest will be Chris Niedenthal himself, the legend of Polish press photography, winner of World Press Photo and author of many cover photos of maga-zines such as Time and Newsweek. Details concerning this meeting are to be found on page 207.

And thats it. We interrupt no more. Have a nice visual reading!

For almost twenty years the Muslim Rohingya have lived in their tens of thousands as unofficial

refugees in Bangladesh, viewing the countless problems of their camps as preferable to the all-

out oppression of the Burma from which they fled. Yet the Bangladeshi governments policy of ig-

noring the issue in the hope that it would disappear unraveled, the Rohingya are now flooding the

pencil thin peninsula of Coxs Bazar at a rate of hundreds per day, inflaming cultural tensions and

risking starvation in a nation already barely able to feed itself. In Kutupalong camp over 25,000

are without proper sanitation, food, medical supplies or shelter; yet the Bangladeshi government

    is unwilling allow international aid.

Due to their unofficial status, the Rohingya refugees at Kutupalong have no access to medical

support. Denied access to the nearby UNHCR camp, and turned away by local hospitals, the

25,000 refugees suffer from a multitude of illnesses and diseases. Respiratory tract infections,

skin diseases brought on by the living conditions, malnutrition, cancer, and mental health prob-

lems; all go untreated. They suffer in a hopeless situation.

Do they understand Im not a doctor? I asked the leader of the local committee, as people

started to gather around, showing me their sick and dying relatives. I cant help them.

They know he replied. But for now, a photographer is all they have. At least you can show

    people what is happening here.
