Doctors' day (1st July) is fast approaching. It is an important day for us to celebrate . So let's celebrate this day with each other and with our patients. We, at AMC, are planning activities and events that will give us a chance to acknowledge our profession as well as our role in society, wherein we take initiative to "Bridge the Gap" between doctors and the general public regarding health and disease. Keeping this in mind, we have planned Public Awareness Healthcare Exhibitions at multiple venues in various specialties and on various topics to educate the lay public about common medical conditions. In addition, we will be releasing and distributing an AMC booklet on Myths and Facts to address common misconceptions that pepole have about health and illnesses.

Inauguration of the main exhibition at Bandra station (W), just outside platform no 1, would be done by Hon'ble Minister Shri Ashish Shelar in the morning of 1st July. We thank him for the same and for getting us the venue. The other exhibition center shall be at Cooper Hospital, Vile Parle (W), and we thank Dr. Ganesh Shinde for his prompt support. These exhibitions will be replicated by our managing committee members at various centers.

For the entire week prior to the Doctors’ Day, Blood donation drives will be held at several locations across the city and so will the Organ donation awareness that AMC has always associated with.

On 2nd July evening, we have a very special entertainment program of the new version of Bottoms Up which is a mix of English and Hindi variety entertainment with fun, laughter, dance, music, etc by AGP world. This will be interspaced with the Felicitation of our own distinguished colleagues. We take this opportunity to thank Mr. Ashvin Gidwani who has always been such a cherished friend of the medical community, for partnership with AMC.

We look forward to seeing you in large numbers with your family and friends. Let us truly celebrate our profession on the anniversary of the great Prof B C Roy.
