IDENTIFIERS North Carolina
ABSTRACTNorth Carolina local public school boards have the statutory
responsibility for operating public schools and for entering into contractsfor design and construction of their schools. This document presents examplesof plans for school buildings planned or constructed during the last fewyears, as of 1981, representing a wide range of educational philosophies anddesign solutions. Elementary, Middle, and High School buildings are included.Each offering provides the floor plan, photographs or line drawings of theschool, and contractor information. Concluding the document are lists ofschools that have: thermal storage; active solar systems; and hydronic heatpump systems. (GR)
