1330 Ms. Donna Doganiero, Chair, DoD IHWG “Welcome”

1340 CDR Joselito Ignacio, USCG “Pandemic and Avian Influenza Update” Pandemic and avian influenza preparedness planning is occurring at a feverish pace both within DoD and the Federal, state, and local government levels. An update of the Federal pandemic flu preparedness efforts will be presented. An effective risk management strategy is essential to prioritizing limited resources; however, it needs to be specific to the types of military forces based on their global location or their level of engagement.

1405 Mr. John Mulhausen, 3M Company “Improving Professional Judgment” Bayesian statistics offers a framework for exposure decision analysis. By incorporating common approaches to visualizing subjective judgments, modeling results, and the analysis of monitoring data, it enables a “feedback loop” that may facilitate professional judgment improvement.
