Allergy Alert

Just like their owners, dogs can be affected by seasonal allergies. Look for the

signs such as excessive scratching or sneezing, If you spot such, talk

immediately to the doctor and get an immediate result. An antihistamine prescribed by your vet can give some instant relief to your pup.

Fur Freshening

We all know that our Furry love gets dense fur cover during the chill time. And

this story is true even for the Temperate Zone. So, you need to trim these off the for the sunny time. So, you can start the cleaning with a warm water bath

to remove the dead skin of the winter months. Dry him up. Use a wide brush

or shedding tool to shed off extra fur and make him summer ready. However for groups like Maltese, Shih Tzu, Keeshond, Bichon Havanese, a

professional groomer trim is advisable. Regularized trimming essential to keep

down the body temperature of your pups on hot days.

Pest Protection

Spring is the returning time of tiny nuisance like fleas, ticks. Your dog must be

kept safe and free from any pests. So, in your next visit your vet for a regular

checkup, don't forget a thorough checkup of your pup (please check for any bug bite or ticks) along with anti-pest medicine. I think you should check your

dog frequently after every walk with your pet sitter. In fact, pet sitters are

tremendous pet lovers, so you can ask them for the job, and they will do it with all pleasure.

Healthy Diet

A winter diet will never be same with the summer diet. So, with the changing

season, you must take special dietary care for your pet. In case, the owners are not very sure of the dog diet, or if they are busy with their regular

schedule, it is better for them to leave the issue to the pet sitters. They are

well trained and experienced and hence will guide better. And your vet can alsohelp you out to decide over the food diet.

Always remember obesity can lead to several health issues like - bone damage, shortened lifespan, reproductive problems, skin problems, urinary tract

problem, Arthritis, Heart Disease, Surgery risks, Decreased stamina, Increased

risk of cancer, Heat intolerance, Decreased liver function etc. for your pup. Spring is the ideal time when you should apply the food check for your pup.

An ideal condition to check whether your pup is overweight is by inspecting his waist. When the belly is tucked up in the side view, your dog is fine, but if your

dog has no waist, lower his calorie consumption. And increase the food if you

can count his side ribs! If your dog is slightly overweight, you can continue with your regular diet and ask your dog sitter for some regularized slimming

exercise.

Tidy time

Springtime is the Cleaning Time. I am sure you clean your house and make it

picture perfect. But what about your dog house? They cannot do it on their own, and so please help them to make that small "Place" their "Home". Clean

it up and add some touch up of your own. You can paint their home with some

bright red, or brilliant blue. You can add wooden paw prints, hearts or even "Dog Bones". Another great way of personalization is name encryption of your

dog. Name Encryption using Stencils or by wooden board letters are great

ideas these days. You can also add flower pots or large water bucket to celebrate summer. My favorite is paw shaped dog pool in my brother's house.

I know your fur friend cannot thank you for using words. But their eyes will show.

So, bid goodbye to winter's show as it is the time for you to watch the spring flower grow.
