In a world under the wave of the rapid

advance of the Industrial Revolution,

Don Bosco emerged as a pioneer in

education. He set about realizing his

vision for youth through a programme

of education for life and career by

forming young men for the challenges

of a new economy. He armed them with

skills in the new trades, ensuring them

with a bright future and also equipping

them with a reliable moral and religious

compass to orient them in their career.

Don Bosco’s magnificent vision of

reaching out to millions of youth

across the globe is being realized today

through his faithful followers – priests

and lay people who through various

initiatives aid young people to find

happiness and a meaningful status in

life. Don Bosco Technical School, Liluah

is one such initiative, making a huge

difference in the lives of young men and

women in India today.

The system of Educationat Don BoscoThe system of education followed at Don Bosco

Technical School, Liluah is Preventive System by Don

Bosco. It is founded on Reason, Religion and Loving

Kindness. We make our general regulations reasonable

and take into account the legitimate demands of

our students in our framing of disciplinary rules. We

exclude arbitrary commands and try to form in our

students deep personal convictions which are capable

of governing their lives.

Our active presence among the students- which is one

of loving kindness and understanding- has no other aim

than that of seeing to the integral development of their

natural gifts and of safeguarding them from physical

and moral harm.

We respect and uphold the religious beliefs of every

individual. Our system of education helps the individual

to love himself, others and God.

■ Remember that we have been created in order to love and serve

God, our creator and that all learning and wealth in this world

amount to nothing without the fear of God on which our temporal

and eternal welfare depend.

■ Give glory to God for whatever learning you have for he is the

author of every good. Do not glory in any ability.

■ Give yourself to the practice of virtue while you are young. The

■ By modesty is meant a proper and decent manner of speaking and

t. John Bosco (popularly known as Don Bosco)

was born in Italy. He is remembered as a

man who dedicated his life to the service of

abandoned young people. John Bosco created

an order in the Catholic Church, called the

Salesians. He was a great educator, employing

teaching methods based on love rather than

punishment. His method of education is

known as The Preventive System. He believed

education to be a “matter of the heart,” and

said that the students must not only be loved,

but know that they are loved. Don Bosco

Institutions are not mere schools; they are a

family and education here is a way of life. To

have a full comprehension of how it works it

has to be seen in action.
