Marine pests can:• Damage your boat’s paint and hull• Increase drag and therefore fuel costs• Increase maintenance costs• Clog pipes, motor or propellers causing engine overheating

Protect your boat and the environment:
• Slip and CLEAN your boat regularly• Select an antifouling paint suited to your boat’s activity, and renew it when persistent fouling occurs• CHECK your boat for fouling every month• DISPOSE of sewage and bilge water at an approved pump-out facility• TREAT internal sea water systems regularly—flush with fresh water or an approved treatment• DISPOSE of waste water from vessel cleaning activities appropriately and ensure it doesn’t re-enter the waterway!When leaving a location, boats and
fishing gear should be CHECKED, CLEANED, DRAINED, and DRIED to remove any potential marine pests.
