IntroductionMilan Taylor has served as the CEO of the Rockaway

Youth Task Force (RYTF) since 2011. Through civic engagement and volunteer opportunities, RYTF strives to empower youths in the local community. In 2013, Milan Taylor was recognized for his work by being nominated as a semi-finalist for the Do Something Award.

The Do Something Award honors young people under the age of 25 who have made a significant contribution to their cause. Established in 1993, DoSomething.org chooses five finalists annually that are awarded a $10,000 grant to continue working for their cause along with additional support and media coverage.

DoSomething.orgDoSomething.org also sponsors initiatives that

everyone can get involved in to encourage change, such as the Bubble Breaks campaign. This campaign was created to benefit children without homes who are exposed to more stressors than their peers who have them. Since breathing in and out slowly is shown to reduce stress, blowing bubbles can be a fun way for these children to de-stress. Volunteers are challenged to make bubble-blowing kits from household items and deliver them to local family shelters.
