DOT-Anonymizer v5.04 Installing the DOT-Anonymizer Server on IBM i | Installation Guide

4 Installing the DOT-Anonymizer Server on IBM i

4.1 Prerequisites

ReferenceFor complete details about the technical prerequisites for DOT-Anonymizer, refer to the System requirements on page 7.

4.2 Installing and updating

The DOT-Anonymizer Server can be installed and updated manually on IBM i or, depending on yoursecurity policy, remotely from any machine running Java.

The installers are found in the \ibmi folder in your installation package.

l The install.sh script is used to run the installer locally on IBM i or remotely from Linux.l The remoteInstall.bat is used to run the installer remotely fromWindows.

Step 1 Copy the IBM i installation package to any directory on the target IBM i or themachine that willorchestrate the remote installation.

Step 2 If you are installing manually on IBM i:

1. Open a session on the target IBM i using the QSECOFR profile or an equivalent.2. Run the command QSH to open a shell session.  Enter the complete path to the install.sh

script and press Enter to launch it.

If you are installing remotely fromWindows or Linux:

1. Launch the installer that corresponds to OS orchestrating the installation.

l Windows: launch the remoteInstall.bat.

l Linux: launch the install.sh.This will open a prompt asking for theRemote IBM i name/address.

2. Enter the name/address of the target IBM i.3. Login using the QSECOFR profile or an equivalent.

Step 3 Define the installation path for the DOT-Anonymizer Server.

Step 4 Define the TCP ports to use. The DOT-Anonymizer Server is an independent AFS server withan embedded H2 database.

Important! The AFS port defined here will be used to configure aconnection to the server. It will be part of the URL that will beused to communicate with the DOT-Anonymizer Server.

To change the port for the DOT-Anonymizer Web Studio, edit the jetty.port in the http.ini file:C:\Program Files (x86)\DOT Solutions\DOT-Anonymizer Web Studio\start.d

To apply the change(s), save the .ini file and restart the service (Computer Management/Services andApplications/Services).

If the web browser's configuration has not been modified from the default settings, accessing thestudio online is as simple as entering the name of themachine on which theWeb Studio is installed asthe URL in any web browser.

ExampleIf the DOT-Anonymizer Web Studio is installed on your local computer, the URL is localhost. By default, the port is 8080, which is the standardinternet port, so when you enter the name of themachine in a browser,it will automatically redirect to the address <hostname>/anonymizer.

However, if the port was changed, enter the name of themachine on which it is installed followed by acolon and the port number.

ExampleIf the DOT-Anonymizer Web Studio is installed on a computer calledWeb Server and the port is changed to 8082, the URL isWebServer:8082, which will redirect toWebServer:8082/anonymizer.

NoteIt is recommended to contact your server admin for the correct servername and port number.
