• Infrastructure is built for the long haul• As climate changes, our infrastructure may have to
evolve to handle new conditions• Impacts on transportation is an underdeveloped area
of research, and a Presidential Priority

• FAA efforts to improve the modeling of aviation emissions, including greenhouse gases
• OST funding several projects to improve the relationship between transportation and climate change, including a Best Practices Guidebook for GHG Reductions in Freight Transportation.
• FHWA’s Road Weather Management Program seeks to better understand the impacts of today’s weather on roadways, with direct impact applications (includes interdepartmental collaboration with weather science community through OFCM).
