Introduction:

MfStockChart module helps you to keep an eye on the turbulent world of stock market on your DNN portal. It has number of features which makes life easy for end users whether he/she is a portal visitor or a portal manager.

Features

Just enter the symbol of the company and after a click you will be having all the required information related to stock of the company. Following fields will be displayed in the stock table (just 20 minutes delay from live market)

Company Name Symbol Last Trade Date Last Trade Time Last Trade Price Price Change Bid Ask Volume Day High Price Day Low Price

You can search multiple companies stocks at a time by simply writing symbols in the search

box. Auto suggestion feature in the search box. If market is open data in stock table will be updated automatically. 1 day, 5 day, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, max graph for each company stock in the

stock table. Graphs of major indices across US, Europe, Asia. User can manage his/her own portfolio of 5 companies. Administrator of portal can set the visibility of different parts of module (search box, stock table,

graphs).

Compatibility

The MfStockChart module is well compatible with DNN 6.0.1 and above.

Installation

Follow the steps below to install MfStockChart module in your DNN enabled site.

Extensions

Click on the 'Extensions' to install MfStockChart module. In order to do that please login to the site as Host or administrator having module upload permissions.

You can find Extensions from the Host menu item (Host >Extensions).

Install Extension Wizard

Click Install Extension Wizard from the Extensions manage menu. It will take you to the “Upload New Extension Package” screen.

File Upload / Browse the ZIP File

The MfStockChart module is in ZIP file format. Browse the module and hit Next button. This will take you to package information page. Click Next and you will be on license page and afterward on installation page.

Module Installed

If you do not see any error messages on Package Installation Report page, it means that the MfStockChart module is installed correctly. Click the Return link.

See it on the List

You should see MfStockChart on the Installed Extensions list. Now you can use the module. Note: Above steps are to install DNN module in versions 6.x. Configuration of MfStockChart

Without login - anonymous user

1. This interface will be visible to a unregistered user.On top will be search box,in middle stock table and finally graphs at the bottom.

2. A user can search a company's symbol by typing company name in the search box. Here auto suggestion feature will work and it will show the companies name along with symbol. Selection of one of them will populate the search box with the respective symbol. User can also search for multiple companies with a comma as a separator between companies symbol.

Note: Stock Table will be auto updated if the market is open.

For example in the image below we searched for 'yahoo'. Clicking on Get Quotes will populate the stock table with related data and respective graph at the bottom.

3. Graph section will be a combination of stock graph and index graph. Index graph will be having graphs of all major indices across US, Europe and Asia.

Login as registered user

1. A new link will be visible on interface “Manage Your Favourite 5”. This will give you an option to manage your portfolio of 5 companies. It will be user specific.

2. Clicking on the link “Manage Your Favourite 5” will open a popup. This interface will allow you to add companies in your list. The search box in this list will allow you to find companies symbols by their name. This box is having auto suggest feature.

Note: A user can add maximum of five companies to his favourite list.

3. List of all favourite companies will be displayed in stock stable if user clicks “View Favourite”

Login as Admin/Host

1. Admin/Host will share a common portfolio. Whatever will be in their portfolio will be the default portfolio of a newly registered member and in the stock table for anonymous users. Newly registered member can overwrite his/her default portfolio by creating his /her own list of favourite five.

2. Admin/Host can set the visibility of the three sections of module (search box, stock table, graphs) across the portal.

3. Admin/Host can do this by going to Manage->Set Visibility interface.

4. By default all three sections are having visibility set to true. Suppose admin sets the visibility 'no' for search box. Then search box will not be visible across any login either it's registered or free.

Conclusion:

The MfStockChart module is compatible with DotNetNuke 6.0.1 and above, .Net Framework 4.0
