The Site in Snap Shots

This month was full of fun and learning. From making molds and strawberry jam to

homework helpers, here are snap shots of our month.

Spa Fun

Our Bath Bomb Club decided to try experimenting with their recipe. Skyler said, “I think we

need to put more red dye in it.” While Maya said, “I think we need to knead it more so it

doesn’t fall apart.” We ended up starting another batch and Eleanor became our bath bomb

expert, telling Sofia, “You need two small drops of color.” Sofia asked, “Does this look like

Teal?” We ended up with some beautiful bath bombs!

Jammin’ at CC

For our Spread the Love Club, we bought fresh strawberries and attempted to make jam

from scratch. Unfortunately, it turned out a little thinner than we expected. “Maybe we put

too much sugar in the jelly and that’s why it didn’t set” Hannah said. Brinley had a great

idea, “We can try again next week and really research a good recipe so we can make sure it

will come our right. At least it’s still a strawberry sauce. We can make strawberry short

cake!” Everyone loved her idea!

Homework Helpers

Now that our homework room is up and running, we discovered a great opportunity for getting

everyone involved. Older kids club does a volunteering activity every month. This month they decided to

try tutoring in our homework room. Heather says, “It’s nice because we already did most of this

homework when we were little.”

Making Molds

For our 3D peace sign activity, we got to learn how to work with molds. Austin said “This is so fun! It’s

like we’re doing construction work!” All the kids thought the feeling of the mold was weird. Eventually

they all got their hands out after some hard work.
