CAMP NUHOP: Each year, our sixth-grade students participate in an Outdoor Education Camp where they learn about nature, work on team building and more.

DARE GRADUATION: All of our fifth-grade students participate in the DARE program. Once complete, they officially graduate from the program.

FALL FEST: Dover Intermediate hosts quarterly kickoff events at the start of each new quarter of school. At the beginning of the year, the Fall Fest welcomes students to DIS.

READ-A-THON: To help raise money for the PTA, we hold spirit days over the course of two weeks. Students obtain sponsors for reading to earn money.

Parent Teacher Association

We have an active PTA that sponsors numerous fun activities for our student body, including a Halloween Dance, Quarterly Kick-off events and Field Day. Moreover, our PTA supports the DIS staff in educational endeavors through a teacher grant program. The collaborative efforts of our teachers and staff, PTA, and the Westlake community, help Dover Intermediate School to accomplish the district’s mission to Educate for Excellence. Each day, we strive to make Dover Intermediate School a great place for kids to learn and grow.

Intervention & Enrichment Opportunities

Our school schedule is designed to provide opportunities for intervention and academic support, as well as enrichment in the form of advanced math and language arts courses. At DIS, we strive to meet the unique learning needs of all students through research-based programming.

RESPECT

RESPONSIBILITY

EMPATHY

INTEGRITY

“ ”Fifth and sixth graders have a lot going on academically, emotionally and physically. DIS is a welcoming and exciting place where students are navigating accountability and responsibility for their decisions, as well as discovering their strengths and weaknesses. The staff at DIS have created a safe environment that encourages our students to navigate these challenges through hard work, kindness, empathy and integrity.
