LAZARIDIS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS & ECONOMICS Applied Business Research Project Organizations Benefit as Students Learn by Doing • Every year more than MBA students provide research and consulting services to over client organizations. • While students apply classroom learning, organizations benefit from the consulting and research outputs. • Each team of five students devotes a total of , hours of applied research and consultation to address a strategic management issue on behalf of their sponsoring client. • Participating organizations represent a range of industries, from start-up businesses to large corporations, non-profit organizations and government departments. Over projects have been completed to date. Top Notch MBA Students • Students participating in the Applied Business Research Project completed at least half of the MBA program and possess, on average, year’s work experience. • Participants are graded on the degree to which they provide value to their clients. • Students have participated in workshops providing project management, team- building, consulting and research skills. • Teams complete projects over a six-month time frame, with regular progress reports. Confidential and Cost-Effective• All projects are confidential. The student team and their supervising professors enter

into a confidentiality agreement.

• Clients pay a sponsorship fee of per project to the university as the project progresses. Pre-approved out-of-pocket expenses for the students are also reimbursed by the client.
