Special Expert Committee, assessing applications to support research projects, implemented by science and studies institutions, according to the order of economic entities.There are 5 special Programme Councils of the programme of Development of High technologies. There are 8 special Expert Committees of the programme of priorities of Lithuanian scientific research and experimantal development. The Foundation has 800 experts of different areas of science. These experts are included into the special database of the Foundation.
Overall 19 Expert Committees are working in the Foundation.There are 5 main Expert Committees in following areas: Humanities Social Sciences Physical Sciences Biomedical Sciences Technological Sciences

implementation of scientific research and experimental development projects in line with priorities of Lithuanian scientific research and experimental development as approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and the projects under the programmes approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania;
implementation of scientific research and experimental development programmes relevant to the state and initiated by the Foundation;
implementation of scientific research and experimental development projects proposed by scientist groups or individual scientists;
scientific research and experimental development projects of science and studies institutions carried out according to international agreements;
scientific research and experimental development projects of science and studies institutions ordered by business entities;
provisions of the state aid for economic entities performing scientific research and applying the results of the research in economic activity;
preparation of textbooks of higher education schools, scientific monographic studies and other scientific work;
arrangement of scientific conferences, symposiums and other science events; grants for students of doctoral studies actively engaged in scientific research; state loans for students of higher schools.

The Lithuanian State Science and Studies Foundation’s mission is the implementation of the state policy in the field of science and studies;
through the administration of monetary resources ascribed to the Foundations, while ensuring their efficient usage;
seeking to promote the development of science and studies; speeding up the implementation of modern technologies; increasing the competitiveness of the science; administrating state loans for Lithuanian students.

Integration of science and studies – we support national science and studies institutions, scientists, students of doctoral studies, researchers, seeking to become a part of international scientific community.
Competitive ability – we support science and studies by organising competitions, through public administration of the state budget funds.
