REMEMBERING THE PARISH IN YOUR WILL
June is a busy month having election for new executive, Ragnar Relay and Year end BBQ. We thank all the student volunteers from St. Mary’s School and the Knights who managed the three relay stations. It was a real success. The Year end BBQ was on Saturday after Mass for the first time. Also after the 9 am and 11 am on Sunday the 10th of June. It was a pleasure meeting new parishioners and seeing everyone socializing with each other. We are moving in the right direction of community building as a parish. During the BBQ we distributed membership cards, to the men of our parish who are thinking of joining, remember we are all about charity. We thank Nicolette, the parish secretary for the food signs in our tent that had us looking “real professional”. We thank Fr. Colman for being supportive of our events and the Knights in general. Thank you all and have a great relaxing summer, and see you all in September.

Groups applying for the 2018 Canada Summer Jobs grant were required to indicate their agreement with certain beliefs held by the current federal government. This contravenes the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which guarantees the freedom of religion and conscience, of thought, belief, opinion and expression, as well as “equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination.”
