Leavers
Mrs Valerie Thomas, our Finance Assistant is retiring after 37 years of service to Winton
First and then to Winton Primary Schools. She has seen many changes in the school over the
years, including 5 different headteachers! Mrs Thomas is now taking much earned retirement
and can now spend lots more time with her beloved Retriever, Duke! We wish her a long and
happy retirement.
Mrs Charmaine Adams is similarly retiring after 28 years of service to the school helping
children at lunchtimes.
Mrs Jo Hewish is leaving us after 15 years in the school office and finally Mrs Sally Parsons is
retiring after 7 years latterly as Supervisor of our lunchtime team.
We would like to thank all of these ladies for their considerate time and commitment to the
school.
Finally we would also like to thank Michelle Moore (Shelley) and Alice Nicholls who have been
helping in the office during the last few months and who have helped us maintain service for
parents and children alike. We wish them well.
Starters
We have two new starters in the school office. Ms Jodi Thrasher joins us as our new Data
Officer and Mrs Lillian Rigler joins us as Finance and Administration Officer.

PFA News
Thanks to a great PFA team and the support of all the
parents, we have finally reached our target! Over the summer holidays work will begin on our new play trail and should be
completed within a few weeks of the children returning to school. To celebrate we
will be having an opening ceremony and a free mufti day, with dates to follow in
September.
In addition to these events, the PFA secured extra funding from JP Morgan and Asda, Castlepoint.
We also owe a huge thank you to The Talbot Village Trust who have generously donated £10,000 to our
appeal and without whom, the play trail would not be happening just yet!
If you haven’t already done so, like us on Facebook to keep up
to date with events and plans of the PFA. Search for: Winton

What a fantastic year it has been at Winton, with pupils being successful in the
classroom, in sport and in the wider community. It has been wonderful to see so
many children celebrated in assemblies recently for hard work and great
behaviour. We hope all of our families enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable summer
break and look forward to welcoming you all back in September for another
successful year.
We will have plenty of staff on duty on the 7th September to ensure that
everyone knows where to go and how to get into school. Once the building work
is complete then things will look a little different but we will make sure that
everyone knows where to go on that first morning! Have a great summer!
