Symptom 

l The table SXMSCLUP is growing very quickly and taking a large amount of disc space

Environment 

l Exchange Infrastructure 3.0l Process Integration 7.x

Cause 

If logging is turned on for asynchronous or synchronous messages this can cause the size of the table to grow much at a much faster rate. Theamount of data that is stored to the database (or written to archive data file) depends on the number of message versions. The more log versionsthere are the more data is created within SXMSCLUP.

Resolution 

1. Run transaction SXMB_ADMIN2.   Select Integration Engine Configuration3. Click Specific Configuration (systems on release 7.0x and lower) / Configuration (systems on PI 7.1 and higher)

4.   Set the RUNTIME parameters LOGGING and LOGGING_SYNC from 1 to the value 0 

5. Logging is recommended to be used during the configuration and test phase in non-productive systems or for troubleshooting in productivesystems
