Device is hydrosmart

AN ADELAIDEbusiness hasunlocked astraightforward

solution to a diverse range ofwater problems.

Over the past 20 yearsHydrosmart has beenrefining ways andmeansof delivering usable waterto producers and consum-ers - and winning fans inthe domestic, agriculturalandmining sectors inthe process.

In short, Hydrosmart usesa computer processor andpipe in a unique U-bendshape wrapped in coilswhich gets inserted into theuser's existing pipe system.

A computer controls theelectrical fields that passthrough the pipe and intothe water.

The appliance disruptsand weakens the bondsof minerals by puttingan ionising charge ontowater molecules.

Hydrosmart owner PaulPearce said its productscould deal with bore water, river water, town andmainswater and were designedto treat scale, corrosion, salinity and iron.

"Hydrosmart offers awater solution for mostproperties from helping todrought proof outback sta-tions tomaking crop successa reality," Mr Pearce said.

"We research, develop andmanufacture our original100 per cent Australianproducts to deal with water

quality problems all over thecountry as well as overseas.

"Hydrosmart is theleading industry waterconditioner and is trusted byagricultural, industrial anddomestic customers alikefor solving scale, salinity andiron problems."

Its water treatment prod-ucts are designed to treatscale, corrosion, salinity andiron, Mr Pearce said.

"Instead of formingas scale better dissolvedminerals pass into down-stream applications withoutbuilding up in pipes, soil, fine sprays or drippers andplants are able to take upactivated water more readilyso growth is improved," hesaid. "Scientific trialsshowed easier hydration onboth treated versus un-treated bore water carryingnutrient mix.

"Even rainwater treatedversus untreated showedbetter crop yields in a lettucetrial withmore weight

being recorded."Hydrosmart's benefits

extended beyond improve-ments to water quality.

A company spokesmansaid the Hydrosmart processdid not produce wastewaterand used only five watts ofpower to produce the neces-sary electromagnetic fieldsand resonance frequencies, meaning no huge electricitybills or it can run on solar ifrequired very simply.

"These units are simpleto install and are totallymaintenance free," MrPearce said.

"With its threemetresof contact with water it

produces outcomes that arequite remarkable once wateris activated allowing 100pcof the flow to be used.

"The water conditionerimproves all water sustaina-bly for decades - whether itis being used in a domesticsetting for lawns andgardens, or on a large-scalecrop farm all for a one-offpurchase price without needof any filters or consuma-bles, just a normal 10 amppower point or solar paneland battery.

"The products alsoimprove stock health whenbore water is high in saltandminerals. Hydrosmart

conditions the water backto amore palatable leveland assists animals to bettermetabolise nutrients in theirgut for healthier growthand overall quality, and isused onmany types of stockfrom chooks to cattle, sheepand horses."

Recent feedlot trialsshowed 15pcmore weightgain just using treated waterover six weeks.

Nathan Keogh, stationmanager at the InnaminckaCattle Station, SA, is a fan.

He successfully usedHydrosmart to prevent scaleand algae in stock troughsin late 2018, admitting hewas "amazed" howHydro-smart halted a build-upup of hard, salty scale inthe troughs filled from a"problematic bore" and howwell cattle responded to theimproved water.

"Cattle seem content(and) I do believe the unit Ihave is doing something. Ithas amazedme how it has

stopped the salty calciumon the cattle troughs." MrKeogh wrote in a letter toHydrosmart.

"Seems to have haltedthe rust somewhat and likeI said the troughs are nowmuch softer to clean."

Mr Pearce said Hydro-smart products had beeninstalled in homesteads, farms, agribusinesses andfactories across Australia, including Uluru NationalPark, Kidmans, RioTinto,BHP, TaturaMilk, d'Aren-bergWines andWild DuckCreekWines.

Somemining camps suchas Newman, Port Headland,West Angelas, Mt Isa andPNG have also derived ben-efits from the Hydrosmarttechnology, he claimed.

"We had an instancewhere chemicals were beingused for de-watering at agoldmine that handled twomegalitres of water in itssystem per day," he said.

"The 110millimetre pipe, which carried amineral loadof 29,000 parts per million, was scaled to a thickness of15mm. Chemicals weren'tdoing the job and scalingwas getting worse.

"The supervisor reportedinstallation of a Hydrosmartsystem not only preventedany additional build-up ofscale, but actually removedthe existing 15mm of scalesuch that the pipe was backto a bare black poly pipe."

Hydrosmart has also beenused inminerals processingin which crushed heapswere irrigated with a cyanidesolution to leach silverinto solution.
