Number System
There are many kinds of Numbers in Japan.
ex. Pension Number Health Insurance Number Residence Certificate Code
Procedures for filling out government paperwork are complicated, inconvenient, and costly.
Background of Number System
17
Things that are improveddue to identification number system
18
Complete social security benefits
Simplifying administrative procedures, reducing burden
Resilience in event of disaster
Obtaining own information/necessary notification (not lose
opportunities because of not knowing)
Improvement of accurate understanding of income
Improvement of service quality in such areas as medical and long-
term care
Issues: There is no basis for confirming if personal information held by different government agencies belongs to the same person.
Burdens of the public will be lessened, their convenience enhanced.
