N
A Stop-Look-and-Listen sign for everyone interested in a new breed of n-alpha olefins.
Construction is on schedule for an industry "first" in early fall. That's when the first commercial plant to produce ethylene-derived normal alpha olefins will be on stream. The site: the Gulf complex at Cedar Bayou, Texas.
Alpha olefins, from butene-1 through eicosene-1, will be produced with fractions as high as C22-C28. Because the starting point is high-purity ethylene, Gulf olefins will be of exceptionally high quality. This means products free of naphthenes, acetylenes, dienes
and aromatic compounds. Working in detergents, plastics,
fibers or specialty chemicals? Write now for more information: Gulf Oil Corporation, Petrochemicals Department, 1290 Avenue of the Americas, New York 10019. SalesOff ices: New York/Pittsburgh Houston/Chicago/Tokyo/London.
