CPT. PEDRO VALDES
DETACHMENT COMMANDER SFC. KEVEN S. CLIETT
DETACHMENT SERGEANT
or for mostly all of us,
Theater Specific Indi-
vidual Readiness Train-
ing (TSIRT). We all
have a part to play in
this preparation and
there is no doubt in any
one’s mind that its not
something we, The Out-
laws cannot handle. We
are here for each other,
the Unit and the Army!
We at A106 have
a standard to be
the best and to
complete the mis-
sion. With two of
our Outlaws away
at WLC, we have
to conform to be-
ing shorthanded
but it will payoff
because it will
show that we can
handle any situa-
tion put in our
way.
The time is com-
ing closer to our
upcoming deploy-
ment and it is
time to start pre-
paring. The Out-
laws have started
training and have
many more
events to endure
before being con-
sidered ready.
Whether its cer-
tificates, cashier
training, weapons
Its all about preparation….

SHARP Training

Sexual Harassment/
Assault Response and Pre-
vention (SHARP) is some-
thing we hear too often. Its
ever present existence in the
media has started the unre-
mitting training that many
Soldiers worldwide are going
through. The Outlaws are no
different, in this class, SSG
Mutinda gave scenarios of
many different kinds. The
Outlaws also read newspaper
articles of true events and
discussed the issues at hand.
This SHARP training was
like no other, there was no
plain power point slides like
most of us are use to, it was
more interactive and more
insightful. We learned that
Sexual Assault does not dis-
criminate, Soldiers of all
ages, rank and gender can be
victims. We must watch out
for each other and all others
as well. With deployment
coming up, this is the time to
sharpen your mind and make
sure we put a stop to these
attacks on our fellow Soldiers
by stepping up if we see a
situation that does not seem
right.
The M9 "preliminary marksmanship instruction” also known as PMI was given by Sgt Moulton and SPC
Hays, D. In this class, the Outlaws were given safety measures for handling the weapon as well as positions in which
they can fire the M9 comfortably. Demonstrations of taking the M9 apart was also part of this class and everyone par-
ticipated in disassembling the weapons. This PMI went without any difficulty and the knowledge passed along was
very useful.

As always, the range went without any mishaps! The
weather was fantastic and everyone did impressively well! All the Outlaws shot ex-
pert with the M9 and overall it was an exceedingly successful training event! The
class on how to handle the M9 as well as the safety brief were instrumental in achiev-
ing this goal.

OUTLAWS
Long awaited and way overdue, Sgt James finally welcomed little Tristian-
Josiah into this World, weighing in at 7lbs, 6oz and 20.5 inches long.
The Outlaw family is thrilled to welcome this little baby with arms wide open.
Majority of the Outlaws have family so the support for one another is always
there and if ever Sgt James needs help, one of us will step up. Sgt James plays an
important role at the CST and her time off due to maternity leave will be felt. On
behalf of A/106, we say Congratulations!

OUTLAWS
The time has finally come where the Outlaws begin their own SRP!
As Soldiers get ready to deploy, they go through the process known as the Soldier
Readiness Program where checklists must be checked off and preparation begin.
Everything from legal, dental, medical and yes, even our own finance must be
squared away before we drift off into this new journey. Whether it’s a first de-
ployment or the third, the Outlaws must go through the exact same process as the
many before them have been through. SRP is our first step into what lies ahead in
the future.
