Description
An aardvark is a mammal that live in Africa. They have very large ears and snouts. They have bad eyesight but excellent sense of smell. They are hairy. An aardvark is 5 to 6 feet long and it weigh 140 pounds. It has strong claws. Sticky saliva. A aardvark sleep in it burrow in the day.
HabitatAardvark live in woodlands, the Africa savanna, desert, and scrub. Aardvarks live in a burrow they are in Africa south of the savanna desert and every so often they will dig a new one.
DietA aardvarks diet is insects such as termite and ants. Aardvark hunt at night and break open termites mounds . They eat 50.000 insects each night. The termites stick to the aardvark’s tongue.
Survival
They live 10 years in captivity. There predator are lion, leopards, pythons, hyenas, and humans.
Other Facts
An aardvark is called an earth pig. It is good at digging with sharp claw. They have good hearing and good sense of smell.
Conclusion
There no other animals quite like a aardvark.
