Thomson Club
The first session of “Thomson” Club was inaugurated by Dr. Srinivasan
Alavandar, Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics explained the mission
of Thomson Club to the students. He encouraged the students and conducted
activities to identify the hidden talent among the students.
A task on project presentation was performed by the students and the
trainers evaluated with well-established rubrics. Students were split into teams.
Each team came out with a presentation of their projects. Students explained the
form and function of their projects. Their presentation was graded by trainers.
Suggestions and improvements were given to the students by Dr. Srinivasan
Alavandhar.
Students were introduced to a virtual circuit drawing software called
“Eagle”. The software enables the students to draw circuits using a PC. This
software helps the students in completing a successful circuit and they can also
check their desired output if input made perfectly.
Sessions related to paper presentation and project discussion were
organized. Students were taken to the Circuit Laboratory to gain practical
experience.
