After a long, refreshing and rejuvenating summer vacation ,we at Carmel are back into rhythm of things.
We at Carmel have consistently produced excellent results in the AISSCE and AISSE
over the years. The students have once again brought laurels to the institution and done
their teachers and parents proud.
In Class X, the following students secured the perfect CGPA of 10 :

Anvita Bajpai , of the PCB stream scored 97.4% with top position in Gwalior region.
Sonam Nigam , of the PCM stream topped in the Gwalior region with 96.6% .
Shivangi Gupta and Manya Chauhan , the toppers from the Commerce stream scored 94.8% .
Geetika Vaswani , topped the Humanities stream with 72% .
Following the excellent class XII result, our Biology
faculty, Mrs. Suchitra Dhamdhere was interviewed by
'Nai Duniya' reporter on her valuable guidance and
teaching methodology which contributed to Anvita
Bajpai's success.

Widening the Exposure……….
A very motivational workshop was attended by our Principal Rev. Sr. Ann Jose and teachers -
Ms. Josepha and Mrs. Liz Lawrence. It was held at the Institute of
Counselor Training Research and Consultancy (ICTRC) in New Delhi. It
was a five days training programme from June 1st - 5th 2017 in the field of
Guidance and Counseling for school teachers wherein the resource person
Dr. V. S. Ravindran, a renowned Educationalist, Psychologist , Counselor
trainer & Teacher educator brimmed the
participants with the principles of Guidance &
Counseling to deal with children, adolescents and their learning and
behavioural problems.
On 24th June 2017 , a session on Yoga and meditation was held. Ms. Sunesh Punya, a Yoga
exponent from LNIPE and Mrs. Ranjana Mishra and her team from Heartfulness Meditation
Institute outlined the benefits of Yoga and meditation. Teachers were acquainted with different
yoga asanas and meditation techniques to ward off stress and enhance their Classroom Teaching
& Learning. Meditation and Simple yoga asanas were performed by teachers to remain healthy
and happy .The session also included a talk on ‘obesity’ by Dr.Wilfred Vaz from LNIPE. It was
indeed an enriching experience for all the teachers.
Orientation program for teachers was held in the school on 23rd
and 24th June 2017. The session on 23rd June was lead by the
resource person Mr. John Bosco Abraham. He briefed the
teachers on effective teaching strategies which included
communication skills and behavioural management. The session
provided the teachers with the knowledge and skills to facilitate
learning.
A Career Guidance Programme for students of class 10th was
organized on 26th April by Career Launcher. Mr. Manoj Dawrani ,
the Director of Career Launcher and an ex-Carmelite acquainted
the students with different career options and also solved their
queries with regard to career.

In the Summer
Night Mela ,
Harshita Kumar of
class I-B won gold
medals in Draw-
ing , Dance and Fancy dress
competitions.
The Gwalior Mela Society organized a summer camp in
which different competitions were held. Nainika Raikwar
of class V-B bagged the first position in Drawing
competition while Kanishka Chachra of class V-B won
the second position.
Shreeja Kathal of Class XII-E
participated in solo singing
competition organized by
Association of Gwalior Youth
Society and secured the
second position.
On the occasion of World Environment Day
various competitions were organized by The
City Food Court in association with Gwalior
Youth Society. Aditi Singh of class IV-A and
Ishika Goyal of class X-E secured second
positions in the drawing competition .
On Mother’s Day a drawing
competition was organized
by association of Gwalior
society in which Shruti
Mangal and Shubhi Mangal
of IX-D participated and won first position and a
consolation prize respectively.
Fine Art college, Gwalior, organized a drawing
competition in which Tehreen Siddique of
class X-A secured the third position.
In the summer camp held at IPS Group
of Colleges-Gwalior , Ayushi Jain of
class X-E won a silver medal in Basket
ball and a Bronze in swimming .
Prashita Gaur of X-E won the third
position In drawing competition held at
Gwalior fair.
Astha Jain of class X-A participated in poster
making competition held at Indian National
Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage , Gwalior
on the theme ‘Save Environment’. She
secured the third position. She was also
honoured by the Chetakpuri Society, Gwalior for organizing
an Art and Craft Camp at her residence for the deprived
children in the month of May and June.
In recognition of her performance in the film ‘Sorry
Daddy’ Anshika Sharma of class XII-E
was awarded Best Child Actor in the
National Feature Category at the 2nd
Lake City International Film Festival
2017 Gwalior (M.P.) She was honoured
as brand ambassador for ‘Beti Bachao’
2016-17 by Health Dept. and by the collector on 26th
Jan. On the International Women’s Day she was
honoured by the society ‘Beti Hai to Kal Hai’ for her
commendable work in the social field. On the same
day she was even presented a certificate of
appreciation by ‘Beti Raksha Social Welfare
Community’.
Muskan Mishra of class VIII B participated
in dance organized by Pradhan Mantri
Kaushal Vikas Kendra held at Dwitiya
Vahini SF Battalion . She was awarded with
a trophy and a certificate.
Prachi Rathore of class VIII B secured IInd
position in drawing competition organized
by Vande Matram Group at Saraswati
Mandir on the occasion of World
Environment Day. She was awarded with a
certificate and a memento .

With profound grief we at Carmel mourn
the untimely demise of Shubhi Gupta, our
class XII student on 3rd May 2017. We pray
