Alcohol Facts
Alcoholism is four to five times more likely in children who are raised by alcoholics.
Studies indicate that there are now almost as many female alcoholics as male.
Alcohol use become alcohol abuse when it interferes with work, school, social or family relationships.
Type one alcoholics are drinkers who have had at least one parent of either sex who was a problem drinker; and who has grown up in an environment that encouraged heavy drinking.
Alcohol Facts Cont.
Type two alcoholism is seen in males only. These “males” do not seek social approval and also
lack inhibition. A driver with a B.A.C level of .10 % is approximately 10
times more likely to be involved in a car accident than a driver who has not been consuming alcohol.
The leading cause in death from five to forty five year old people is traffic accidents.
Approximately 41% of all traffic fatalities in 2002 were alcohol related!
