BoardBoard of Trustees 2012-2013WelcomeWelcomeMichelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci didn’t quite know they were in the middle of a new age of learning, but they were. These two were clear rivals for certain projects, and their names are more recognizable than most when exploring the Renaissance. Works such as The Last Supper, the Mona Lisa, David and the frescos on the Sistine Chapel are a few of their more noteworthy accomplishments. Perhaps da Vinci went even further because of the depth and breadth of his interests in the arts and sciences. Literally translated, Renaissance means rebirth or revival. Historically, we recognize it as the cultural transition between medieval and modern times, roughly between the 14th and 17th centuries.
Over the last several years, All Saints’ has experienced its own renaissance for we are in transition between the best of traditional education and a new age of discovery. Having celebrated our 60th Anniversary in 2011-2012, we are now poised to make the next 60 years even more dynamic. While much attention has been given to the remarkable transformation of our physical campus, the innovations within our curricular and co-curricular programs have been nothing short of inspiring. Blending the achievements of our past with best practices of today, and viewing them both through the lens of tomorrow, is the educational model that we believe will best prepare today's students for global leadership.
With vibrant programs infiltrated through all levels of our School including Math/Art Integration, RANGE, iPlot, NASA competitions, Solar Car Challenge, Project Empathy, nationally-recognized Religion curriculum and the new Honors College, All Saints’ is on the move. The intellectual and artistic fermentation has been bubbling for some time, yielding significant creative synergy.
As our world shrinks and technology advances, names such as Gates and Jobs emerge as giants in our midst. Who else among our current and future generations will continue to shape the educational, economic, artistic, scientific, literary, spiritual and global landscape? Who will be the next Leonardo da Vinci, Amelia Earhart, Peter Higgs, Alan Page or Dietrich Bonhoeffer? Those who learn to serve and share their scholarly, artistic and athletic talents in ways to improve the communities in which they live will be well positioned to make their unique marks on the world. Cultivating servants, scholars, artists and athletes is alive and well at All Saints’ Episcopal School. We welcome you to learn more about the highlights of this past year, and the selfless volunteer leaders who continue to give of their time, talents and treasure to sustain our community of Saints.
Many Blessings,

A hallmark of the All Saints’ experience is the College Advising program. Beginning in the freshman year, each student is well-informed and ready for the challenge of exploring, analyzing and applying to colleges and universities. Because each student has different gifts and interests, it is the job of the College Advising team to work one-on-one with students and their parents to strategically and methodically help them make decisions that set successful futures in motion.
216 students in the Classes of 2011 through 2013 have taken 444 AP exams. On average, 70% earn a score of 3 (passing) or higher. AP courses offered in 2013-2014 include:English LanguageEnglish LiteratureCalculus ABCalculus BCStatistics

INVESTMENT COMMITTEE
FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Finance Committee is responsible for the overall fiscal health of the School including developing the annual budget, tracking expenses on a monthly basis and recommending tuition rates for the coming academic year.
Management of the School’s Endowment Fund is delegated to the Investment Committee in partnership with our professional advisors, Diesslin & Associates. Established in 2007, the Investment Committee has risen to the challenge of being good stewards of the School’s resources during a period of worldwide macro-risks. The result has been overall solid returns.
All Saints’ has consistently operated in the black and receives a clean management letter from our external auditors each year. Our spending philosophy is one of prudence, and we are proud to be among the independent schools nationwide that operate debt-free.
Marketing & Admission Committees 2012-2013The Marketing Committee is responsible for the direction of the School’s strategic marketing initiatives and overall branding position within the marketplace. Aligned with the Admission Committee objectives, the Marketing Committee goals are to offer innovative and entrepreneurial ideas to promote All Saints’ as the most distinctive independent college-preparatory school in the Fort Worth area.
The Admission Committee, a dynamic collection of professionals within the All Saints’ community with children of all ages, is charged with supporting the School’s enrollment management strategy, admission process, and retention program. From Early Childhood through Upper School levels, the Admission Committee reviews All Saints’ global enrollment objectives and provides guidance on existing initiatives and strategies designed to achieve those goals.

Annual Giving
1110
Annual Giving 2012-2013This quote from Mother Teresa sums up the leadership of 2012-2013 Annual Fund Chairs Paula and Bob Brockway, who truly love All Saints’, and who led a dedicated Annual Fund Leadership team with a campaign that raised $685,105 in unrestricted income for the School. The Annual Fund is an essential element of the fiscal health of the School. The funding model for All Saints’, while heavily tuition driven, relies on Annual Fund dollars for operating, professional development, technology and whatever else comes up in any given school year. The Faculty and Staff, Board of Trustees, Vestry and Alumni Board continued their excellent tradition of 100% participation. Overall parent participation was 71%, and Alumni, Parents of Alumni, Grandparents and Special Friends of the School also made significant contributions to the Annual Fund.
“We were honored to serve our Saints as Annual Fund Chairs for the 2012-2013 school year. We have over 20 years of experience as parents, volunteers and trustees at Episcopal schools and can attest firsthand to the excellence of an Episcopal education. We feel so blessed to have been able to bring our two daughters to this fabulous School, and we are enjoying being a part of the All Saints’ community. We are constantly reminded and encouraged from the Gospel of Luke that tells us, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” We receive great joy in giving back to the School that has given our family so much. Thank you to our volunteers and to everyone who made a heartfelt gift to the Annual Fund.” - Paula and Bob Brockway

2012-2013 All Saints’ Total Revenue STRIVING FOR 100% PARTICIPATION
All Saints’ is a very giving community. The Annual Fund receives gifts ranging from $10 to over
$30,000 from Faculty/Staff, Board of Trustees, Parents, Alumni, Parents of Alumni, Vestry,
Grandparents and Special Friends. Every single gift is important and appreciated. One of the most
affirming trends at All Saints’ is that our Faculty/Staff, Board of Trustees, Alumni Association Board and Vestry traditionally achieve 100% participation. Our Parent participation is historically lower, in the 70th percentile. Why is 100% Parent participation
emphasized so much? Above all, it means additional resources to fund our operating budget.
Strong participation is also a symbol of maturity and credibility. Some of the most seasoned and prestigious private institutions nationwide and in
our area achieve 100% Parent participation in their Annual Funds. Furthermore, when funding is sought
from outside sources for capital campaigns, 100% participation displays strength of financial position
and community loyalty.

PT O BoardPT O Board 2012-2013The Parent Teacher Organization is the oldest of the three parent auxiliary groups, and its primary purpose is to support the faculty, staff, students and parents at All Saints’. The PTO does this in many ways including organizing classroom/grade liaisons and room moms to plan class parties in Early Childhood and Lower School; supporting Middle School with the Chili Kickoff and Project Empathy; and planning Homecoming activities and the Prom for Upper School. The PTO also presented a new event to the All Saints’ community, Harvest Fair, where students and families enjoyed fall-themed treats, games, rides and activities. Of course, the PTO continued their support for long-standing events such as the Scholastic Book Fair, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, the Parent Speaker Forum, the Faculty/Staff Appreciation Lunch, First Friday Breakfasts for all Divisions and quarterly Division Head lunches. Under the leadership of PTO President Kelly Parsley and the PTO Board, countless volunteers helped make 2012-2013 such an incredible year.

The Booster Club promotes School spirit, character development and the physical well-being of students through financial and other forms of support for physical education and athletic programs in every Division. The collaborative effort of coaches and parents allows our students to emphasize sportsmanship and excel in the highly competitive Southwest Preparatory Conference, teaching them the value of hard work and complementing their efforts in the classroom. Booster Club chairs Melissa and Matt McLaughlin, the Booster Club Board and many Booster volunteers helped All Saints’ host fall SPC and supported all sports throughout the year by selling Booster Buttons, volunteering at the Snack Shack, Track Shack and Bat Shack and serving as team moms and dads to support the athletes throughout their busy seasons. The two major fundraisers for the Booster Club are the fall Sports Program and the Booster Club Golf Classic held in the spring. Both the Sports Program and the Golf Classic were very successful fundraisers this year that brought in much-needed funds to help the Booster Club support all sports throughout the year. The Booster Club truly embodies the motto, "Protect the Family". Go Saints!

FAME (Fine Arts Matters in Education) was established to promote and enhance the Fine Arts at All Saints’ Episcopal School. FAME volunteers work hand in hand with Division faculty to support their extraordinary guidance in the visual arts, dance, music, musical theater, drama, photography, film and design. Forms of support include hosting receptions, “Green Room” hospitality for young thespians and financial grants to provide musical theater with costumes, choir dresses and tuxedos, finale software for music, spotlights for plays and funds to help offset costs for students to attend the ISAS Fine Arts Festival. FAME President, Jackie Harris, and a passionate team of Board members and volunteers spent countless hours supporting the growing fine arts program at All Saints’. FAME also introduced a new Masters Workshop Series, designed to bring experts in various fields of the Fine Arts to present masters workshops to our students in every Division. In the spring, FAME hosted actor Tim Mooney who performed his original Lot o’ Shakespeare where he delivered excerpts from 38 Shakespeare monologues including Much Ado about Nothing, Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet in just one act. One of the highlights of the year was All Saints’ nomination for three Buckley Awards including Best Musical for Into the Woods; Best Actress, Courtney Harris; and Best Female Supporting Actor, Margaret Boschini.

The overarching goal of the Advancement Committee is to maximize the School’s resources, both human and financial, to successfully advance our Mission. At All Saints’, we are blessed with a strong parent community and three vibrant auxiliary organizations – our PTO, founded in 1983, Booster Club (1993) and FAME (2002.) These volunteers work tirelessly to support every area of our School, and they have a significant impact on our reputation as a tight-knit community.
We are also blessed with countless other “saints” who give of themselves and their resources to make All Saints’ the best School we can be. This year our Annual Fund garnered $685,000 in gifts from over 700 donors, including parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, Vestry, faculty/staff, corporations and community organizations. We work, learn, play and worship together on a Campus made possible by $40 million in capital gifts. The School’s Endowment Fund has grown from under $10 million just three years ago to more than $13 million, through thoughtful, strategic guidance from our Investment Committee.
As we strive for success in our development efforts, we are ever-mindful of the people behind these gifts and of the generous spirit that has prevailed at All Saints’ since its founding 62 years ago. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of our donors and supporters, past and present, whose contributions serve to enhance our educational model and demonstrate faith in our Mission. We are indeed a community of Saints!

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Building for Character: For ALL the Saints
All Saints’ current Capital Campaign, Building for Character: For ALL the Saints, continued in the Quiet Phase this year and experienced incredible success. Because of the generosity of early support from the All Saints’ Community and the leadership of Campaign Co-Chairs, Raney & Pete Chambers, Dana & Dee Kelly, Jr. and Linda & George Young, Jr., the Campaign raised a total of $12,974,569 by June 30, 2013.
Over the last two years, Campaign volunteers worked diligently to ensure the most prudent and comprehensive use of Campaign resources. Aptly named
For ALL the Saints, the Campaign includes several capital additions to support the arts, athletics and our youngest Saints. In addition, the Campaign will increase much needed endowment funds to ensure the School’s long-term financial health and to support competitive teacher salaries and financial aid. Funds from the Campaign will purchase the 44 acres north of Normandale, which will safeguard the integrity of our campus, create an even safer environment for our students while providing ample space for future programming growth.

While the first project completed as part of For ALL the Saints was the Gray Tennis Center in 2012, the most recent component completed is the extraordinary Dillard Center for Early Childhood Education, which just opened in August 2013. Made possible by the early support of the Dillard Family and the Amon G. Carter Foundation, the Early Childhood (EC) Center is located adjacent to Moncrief Lower School. The new wing expands offerings to three-, four- and five-year old students, while providing a facility to match our first-class program. The Center includes:
• 6 classrooms to accommodate part-time and full-time programs• A Multi-Purpose Room for music, dance and presentations• An Art Room for the Division • A Library with up-to-date technology • A brand new playground, specifically designed for these young children
All Saints’ new EC Division was established in 2010 in response to the greater community’s growing need for more enhanced education for three-, four- and five-year-old children. Scientific studies show that nearly 90% of brain
development occurs before the age of five, and All Saints’ believes that the best way to prepare our students to be life-long learners, and to promote the ideal educational experience, is to provide exceptional programming for even the youngest students.
Unlike traditional preschools, All Saints’ offers a highly engaging EC curriculum with distinctive enrichments including Science and Technology labs, Foreign Language and Fine Arts. The program fosters a uniquely balanced approach to intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development. As part of the All Saints’ community, students have access to educational resources unlike anywhere else – such as classes at the School’s RANGE (Research, Agriculture, Nature, Geology and Ecology) outdoor learning center, Chapel, and story and reflective time in the Chapel’s Godly Play Room.
Building for Character: For ALL the Saints continues in the Quiet Phase now, and all of the Campaign Committees are doing a phenomenal job. There is MUCH on the horizon for our School!
