As the evening grows late,
the guests depart and the

about her beloved Nut-

asleep with him in her arms.
As the clock strikes midnight
strange things begin to hap-

The Nutcracker Story:
It is Christmas Eve at the
Stahlbaum house -- A large
and grand house with the
most beautiful tree imagin-
able. The Stahlbaums are
hosting their annual Christ-
mas party, welcoming the
arrival of their family and
friends. The children, Clara
and Fritz, are dancing and
playing as they welcome
their friends too.
The party grows festive with
music and dance as godfa-
ther Drosselmeyer ar-
rives. He is a skilled clock
and toy maker and always
full of surprises. Drossel-
meyer draws everyone's at-
tention as he presents two
life-size dolls. They are the
delight of the party, each
taking a turn to dance.
The children begin to open
gifts when Drosselmeyer
presents his to Clara and
Fritz. Although his gift to
Fritz is quite nice, he gives
Clara a beautiful Nutcracker
that becomes the hit of the
party. Fritz becomes jealous
and, having a bit more spunk
than a boy should have,

you can dig up and share? Other games will be happening
throughout the rest of the day. So stay tuned into how you could walk away with some great CFMC
Every year, CFMC puts on a fun filled Halloween celebration: the lunch room is decorated, people come in costumes, and food that looks like something only a zombie would love… So this year we are hoping that we will have more people who will par-ticipate in getting all decked out for this crazy occasion. We will have a “lunch” competition once again. People will get a chance to vote on what they think is the spookiest, craziest, zombiest, “looks bad but taste good”. So what do you think
prizes. We love some of the out fits that people come in with. The thought, creativity, the fun that some of you bring each year makes this one of our favorite Holidays. See if you can get your team to come up with a theme, dress the same, famous duos, how wacky can you get? There will prizes for the best ones out there… and I don't mean space… Start planning now, all the best costume ideas are still available.
Gaudy Breakfast has been moved up: Once a month, the HR team loves to put on some sort of meal for everyone. Back by popular demand is our fun breakfast. We were thinking about doing another PJ breakfast but with Halloween coming up we thought we should hold off on PJ’s till later in the year. And then, on the calendar in front of us, we saw that October 17th was wear something gaudy day. How perfect is that? But then we realized that both Scott and Cary will be out of the office on that day. So
not to put on a event without our whole team present, we decided to move wear some-thing gaudy to October 10th, when we will be serving breakfast on that day. We know that you would have to come up with two cos-tumes in the same month, but wear something gaudy could be a hat, a tacky scarf that doesn't go with anything, a sweater that you wouldn’t even put on your dog… the possibilities are endless. More than anything else it is a time to come into work being a lit-tle crazy for the day. We also
know that there are some big deliverables due at the end of the month and that people are really busy. So by having breakfast ready first thing in the morning, earlier in the month, we can get it out of the way and not disturb your meetings and calls. Come eat early, eat it while it’s hot, and giggle at some of the crazies we dragged in off the streets to join us for wear something gaudy day. We are all about fun… how about you all?

Canned Good Drive: Help Stamp out Hunger! Did you know?
11.2% of people in Colo-rado live in poverty. 13% of Colorado chil-dren live in poverty. 1 of 8 households in Colorado are food inse-cure with hunger. The number of children living in poverty has in-creased 85% since 2000, with more than 192,000 children living at or be-low the poverty level.
A count conducted by the
Metro Denver Homeless Ini-tiative found that families comprised nearly half of the homeless popula-tion. Also with the re-cent fires and the flooding, there are a lot of families that don't have enough this sea-son to feed their families. It is so hard to imagine loosing eve-rything due to a natural dis-aster.
We are accepting canned goods and non-perishable items along with toiletries
and cleaning sup-plies for the food banks in the Colo-rado Metro area November 1st—19th. Please bring your donations to the reception area. We appreciate your
support and generosity!
91% of Americans eat turkey on Thanks-giving Day. Thomas Jefferson thought the concept of Thanksgiving was "the most ridiculous idea I’ve ever heard." On the West Coast of the US, Dungeness crab is common as an alternate main dish instead of turkey, as crab season starts in early November. More than 40 million green bean casse-roles are served on Thanksgiving.
Share that with your family and friends this Thanksgiving weekend...
You are invited to a Thanksgiving Lunch on Tuesday, November 19th, 2013. Lunch will begin at 11 am and end at 1 pm. CFMC will provide the meal (don’t worry it wont be turkey). Fun facts about Thanksgiving:
Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird of the United States. Californians are the largest consumers of turkey in the United States. Turkey has more protein than chicken or beef. The five most popular ways to serve left-over turkey is as a sandwich, in stew, chili or soup, casseroles and as a burger

items for their holidays, candy and small trinkets for stockings and of course, any toys or items for family members. Many families this year will go without so let us do our part to help bring a little joy to someone’s home this season.
Every year CFMC adopts a family from the Salvation Army. Once we receive the information on the family, i.e., how many people, names, ages, things that they may want or need we let staff know. We accept donations for the family usually up to and

Ornament Exchange: Ornament Exchange: This year’s Ornament Exchange will be early in December. So get ready to play… Bring in an ornament and set it on your desk. When the exchange has started you may take your ornament and walk around both floors looking for the perfect orna-ment for you. When you find it, you may take that or-
nament from someone’s desk and replace it with yours. You must then put the ornament of choice back on your desk (no fair hiding it in a drawer). If the ornament gets taken you must take the replaced ornament and go seek out an-other one you want. This will happen throughout the day until the exchange has been stopped. The ornament you
have on your desk at that time is yours. No kicking, fighting, or tripping al-lowed!

Oh, and one more thing...: 1. For ALL USPS - Please put the con-
tract, activity code and project number on the bottom left hand corner of the envelope. CFMC does not process personal USPS mail. ALL items that are to be mailed that day will need to be in the proper outgoing mail boxes by 3:00pm. If you put mail in the out-going mailbox after 3:00pm, it will go out the following business day.
2. For personal UPS – To put a re-quest in for personal UPS delivery, please provide the following: Name of person to send it to, their ad-dress, their telephone number, whether it is to be shipped ground or 2 day or overnight and who the
package is from. CFMC will process personal UPS packages for you, but without a name attached to it, it will not be processed. Be aware that at the end of the month FS will send you a bill requesting you to pay for your package.
3. For ALL UPS - packages are being
picked up earlier now… by 3:40pm every day. Please make this change for scheduled pick ups.
4. Over the next several months, we would like to have a Brown Bag Lunch where people get the chance to share some of their summer travels, stories and of course pictures. Please let Scott know which month you are able to be ready for. October 14th will be
our first one where Kimothy and Nikki will start us off in the Alpine Room at 12:00pm. If you want to pair up with someone that would work too.
